We all know that a true artist should not be afraid to be original.But did you know? A true artist should also not be afraid to be unoriginal.
A true artist should not be afraid of anything (except laziness).
It's our job to find a redeeming quality in every art style, every subject, every story, no matter how lame/overdone we think they are. After all, they could be a diamond in the rough and we'll never know.

I wholeheartedly agree. As a storywriter I tend to stay away from certain cliched topics (orphaned children, good/bad twins) but, as you said, there's still some good stuff out there. Just cuz people wrecked it doesn't mean it's permanently wrecked. That applies to music, art, everything creative! We can change the perspective. Man, I wish I could use this stamp. ;A;
