Description This is a basic dragon scale tutorial.
BIG TIP: pick different colors of blue - not just lighter/darker/more saturated/less saturated but really change the 'color wheel'.
This is just how I get the basic lighting done. Also I usually don't draw the scales that neatly in a row. You can. whatever you prefer.
Download for a closer look.

Wow, this is indeed very helpful and not that hard to follow as well, I always thought shading is super hard, but thanks to this, I won't have any trouble

Glad it helped! I received more positive feedback than I expected! I might do another tutorial - although I'd have to think on the subject. Cheers!

Oh no I meant spiffy. It's another word for awesome/cool but than with a little flair. I didn't mean it was 'still'. I am commeting on it because I think it's great

Oh darn! One day to late xP But I hope it can help you in the future.
Truth is, I barely draw scales -- too lazy x)

Thanks! I'm to lazy to draw scales all over a dragons body though. Did it once, took ages xD But they're still fun to draw once in a while to fiddle around with coloring
