This is a 10” custom figure I was asked to make of the character called Number One from the Star Trek pilot episode titled ‘The Cage’

To make her I used the 10” Nurse Christine Chapel figure by Playmetes as a base. Seen here…

This was an obvious choice of base figure as Nurse Chapel & Number One were both played by the same actress ‘Majel Barrett’. This meant I did not need to do any sculpting to her face.
To start I cropped off most of her old hair with a sharp craft knife then resculpted her new hair using a product called ‘fixit sculpt’.
Once the sculpt had set I then painted her hair dark brown using Hunbrol enamel paints.
Her uniform came from the 10” Captain Christopher Pike figure by Playmetes, seen here…

I had to alter the size of the trousers & top to make them fit Number One & I also made her a new collar using the pieces of fabric I had trimmed off the back of her uniform.
I also made a little video for this figure which I posted on my custom figures facebook page.

Back in the day, I didn't care who made the cartoons, I loved to watch them. I even watch the original anime shows. (The ones that were SO terribly drawn and acted.)

OMG! Not too many people know about Number One from the pilot movie. It's too bad they didn't use her. I think Majel Barret was fantastic in that role.

yea she was fantastic as Number One It would have been amazing to see how her character would have developed.
She was also fantastic in her other role's too. She truly is 'the first lady of star trek'.

exactly, plus she has appeared in all the various series of Star Trek as either Number one, Nurse Chapel, Lwaxana Troi, Lieutenant M'ress & the voice of the ships computer. She was such an amazing woman.

Yes, Majel Barrett was a multi-talented woman. I wish I could have met her before she passed away. I'm sure I would have enjoyed every second we spoke with each other. But, I didn't know she voiced Lt. M'Ress. (I never watched the animated series. That's one Star Trek series I missed. I may have to put it on my Netflix queue.)

I tried to watch it once but, I had a hard time with it. I think the voice acting was most difficult for me to deal with. That said, I'm going to put it back on my Netflix queue. Because of your guarantee that it's worth it, I'll do my best to finish watching it this time.

yes you definitely should. All the voices are actually played by the actors from the original series, which I think makes it even better

I put it in my Netflix queue after reading your response. It'll be a while due to other shows I've got ahead of it but I'll get to it eventually. Sorry it took so long to respond. I've been rather busy for a few days and then Irma struck and I'd been without power for several days.
