Leon Scott Kennedy didn’t know what he should think about all this. He was used to be thrown out of the bed in the middle of the night, with some kind of assignment that led him to the edge of the earth. He was used to be send into viral outbreaks to search for survivors, data and other things. By now he was even used to be infected now and then... he had been infected with the T-Virus twice and only the further developed vaccine against the T-Virus had saved his life. After these “Daylight”-injections Leon always felt like crap, but better feeling like crap than being dead.

But the whole situation here was something Leon had hated from the start. The moment they had given him the maps of the area and the buildings he had felt, as if he had been sent back to the past. The complete layout of the city had reminded him a lot of Raccoon City and even a few buildings had the same design. As if Raccoon City had a sister – who shared the same destiny. Infected by the T-Virus. Now Leon was walking through the abandoned police-station with his BSAA-backup... A fact that pleased and displeased him at the same time. He was relieved that he hadn’t fight through this alone , but did they have to send Claire Redfield with him?

Leon knew that Claire was a very capable woman, who knew how to fight and he felt more safe with her, than everyone else... but who took care of their little boy, when something happened to both of them? Right now, Hunnigan was both – Mission-support and Babysitter, because in half an hour even Claire couldn’t get her four-month old toddler to her brother and Helena was still in France to check a lead that hopefully brought them closer to the whole data-files of Neo-Umbrella.

Leon sighed. “Maybe we should have told the BSAA that we married a year ago,” the agent said, while checking the next hallway with his gun drawn. The Desert Eagle sparkled in the artificial and flickering light.

“Yeah, maybe,” Claire answered. “But I don’t think, that this would have changed anything. I assume quite the opposite. If we had told them, they would have sent us together to these assignments all the time. I mean – why sacrificing a whole BSAA-squad when you can have a D.S.O.-agent instead.”

With a shrug of the shoulder Leon entered the next room, which was obviously the main office of the station. Desk were standing there, with still running computers and in the midst of all this Leon could smell only death and decay. The agent didn’t want to be here – he didn’t want his wife to be here. The ceiling lights were mirrored on his glasses and those of Claire, who followed close behind, her gun drawn and ready to shot. The young woman shook her head. “It’s like in Raccoon,” she whispered.

“Better Raccoon than Tall Oaks,” Leon growled. “The T-Virus-Infected are slow but those infected with the C-Virus are much more dangerous.” The agent looked up. “There’s an office. Let’s take a short break and catch our breath.” Claire nodded and followed him like a lost puppy. Leon closed the door behind him, after checking the office, while Claire leaned on a wall and closed her eyes. “You’re pale like a ghost, honey,” Leon said carefully and closed the distance between them with one single step. “Are you okay?” Claire opened her eyes and Leon sighed. He could see the fatigue and exhaustion clearly in these blue orbs he loved so much.

Claire smiled weakly. “I’m out of shape,” she answered. “I couldn’t do any kind of training while I was pregnant with Jaden.”

Leon looked at her more than just worried. “I’m calling the chopper to get you out of here and go on alone!”

Now it was Redfield who shook her head vehemently. “No way!” she replied. “I just need a few minutes to relax and gather my strength.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes!”

The skeptical look on Leons face didn’t disappear. “Just for the protocol,” he said. “I don’t like this at all!”

Claire smiled. “Noted,” she answered, then she kissed him softly on the lips. “You worry too much!”

Leon returned the kiss, then whispered softly. “And you are too careless.” The agent took a step back and leaned on the desk, before checking the clip of this Desert Eagle. But the moment his ears heard the noise of shuffling feet, he and Claire knew that their little break would soon end. Soon it would start to dawn and the night would increase the number of infected dramatically. They had to move, they had to hurry... but Leon knew that they could do this. They could face this... together...

This picture and the little story was inspired by a comment on the Preview of the Mod of Leon. Something about Leon's Glasses and a following nosebleed.

As for the lyrics... they were a fast idea. The picture was already done, but I thought about that song and decided to add the lyrics to the picture.
