Description
ajeemaniz asked me if I could make a tutorial about how I draw turtles. The first part is about Mikey's head and I hope my explanations make some sense, because I am really bad at explaining (especially in english XD)
I try to upload now every week a new How to till I have explained everything^^
Please write in the comments who should be drawn next week. I pick then the turtle with the most votes.^^

hehehe... idk, but since i asking a tutorial to , i just want to stop tracing video screenshoot,Β i feel kinda 'less creative' than others... :/Β
anyway, i found it easy drawing their faces, especially raph and leo, but mikey and donnie is hard to draw, their head shape is kinda funny, and i really have no idea how to draw April,
(lit. drawing 'real human' is really hard... )
i can't wait until the body Β tutorial, since i draw their body 'weirdly'... Β
and i still need to practicing their body anatomy...Β
that's why i really need to more practicing and tutorials... :">

I have my harddrive full with screenshots of them in any situation. There is nothing bad or uncreative about using references and I do it all the time when I get stuck with my drawings.
And learning about human anatomy in general helps a lot to draw them. If you understand how the human body works, can you just adjust it a little and get a mutant turtle body out of it.^^

!? so... in other words... i push myself out of limit, with a little progress..?Β
i mean,Β idk, i just regret that long time ago, i copy-cat often...Β
hufft... i can use a reference, but avoid to '100%' trace the line and pose, right...?
www.polykarbon.com/tutorials/b⦠kinda help me much, still learning from this site...

Doing copy-cat isn't that bad for a start. I did it too and started to do my own stuff at one point.
And yes, that is right. Actually have many of the greatest renaissance artists learned how to draw and paint through copying their masters.
And it is good that you use sited like this to improve
You should just try yourself out and don't be afraid. On every good drawing I made over the last years came five bad ones.

wow, seriously? i can't believe it.. Β
and now, you are the one of my 'sensei' now... hahaha... no kidding.. Β
wha..? 5 years..?? kinda long time for me.. isn't that frustrating..? orr..?

*blushes* I am not sure if I am fit for being a sensei.
And I didn't mean five years XD
I meant out of six drawings you make will at leat four or five don't be as good looking as you would like it. But you should keep even the bad drawings, because when you see them later can you get new ideas out of them. (at least did I do that)
But besides that does it really take time to improve and it IS frustrating at times, but it is also extremely satisfying and it makes me happy to draw and that is in the end the important part.

why not fitting..? there's so many great artist (including you :"> ) taught me about drawing, and give me kinda spirit...Β
ohhehehehe... i thought it's about time....Β got it.. Β
(fact: 10-20 drawings i made, 19 or 20 still not really good looking... )Β
oww... i see.. i don't need to be rush, keep calm and keep practicing..

I think a tutorial on the body would be great. Unless you already have one? *goes to search*

hahaha XD no problem. I know the struggle of using a iPad, since I have to use one at work sometimes when the computers are taken and I need to get drawing references.
