Description
This is my part-bred Aquiletan stallion, Taranis and I finally got around to re-making him a little, doing a new ref sheet, and making him look nicer. He also has a back-story now, and it helped me to get into his character a fair bit. I quite like him now ><

Named: Taranis
Species: Unknown Equine Form X Aquiletan; (Aquiletan parts are Wings, Build, Leg markings, size.)
Gender: Male
Build: Andalusian, with a hint of akhal teke and a heavier draft-type build.
Colour: He is a green, blends with the environment he was raised in. Only his adornments are red, like dried blood, and he is littered with black markings.
Markings: The black markings are insignia, tattoos of power and strength given from where he came from. He has a torn ear; and he is missing one wing entirely.
Behaviour: He is a strong warrior from his homeland, before they were all murdered by a great shadow. He survived but he became more twisted as time passed, and now he craves only power, destruction and death, to see to the end of those he feels are responsible for his predicament. He is rarely kind, and rarely speaks.
History: He was born in the hinterland of a great island, the son of a mighty warrior mare, and a rogue Aquiletan, who had been captured in a raid and brought to their kingdom for hunting. However, his mother had decided she'd like him, and so brought him to her side and forebode any from hurting her. Many of their kind believed this was an insult to the purebred, though what they were is an unknown, lost in fire and ice.

Taranis was raised as a hunter from birth, learning how to use his horns, blades and spikes to destroy his prey. His father found this worrying, being a purebred Aquiletan and still getting used to their ways, but his mother was proud. When he was only a few years ago, he had begun courting another, but found himself in turmoil in his land. Others were shunning him because of him being a part-bred, and they would never involve him in their games. He began to hate them as well, but he never got a chance to do anything to them.

His hatred for his father rose as well, until one day he attacked him, only wanting to rip him apart and curse him. He never got that chance either, when he had come to confront him, their home exploded. Fire rained from the sky and Taranis was for the first time, afraid. He reacted with instinct like no other; he ran. His mother told him to use his wings, and so he did. He and a few others escaped from the torment of their island and from the mainland, they watched it burning, lost in fire. One of the survivors was his sire, who had also flown away. He began to show cowardice and wanted to return to those he had left so long ago; and one night, his father had left, slinking into shadow.

Taranis, now full grown and marked like the true warrior he was, followed him back. He found his father with his previous love, and Taranis exploded at him. He was betraying his mother's memory by returning to his old life. His mother was the only one he ever liked. He lashed out violently, ripping off his father's wings and killing him, before turning on the woman. He hunted her down, chasing her back to her main herd, where he had set upon her and killed her in plain sight. He roared his defiance at the Aquiletan and he left them, hating them for what they had done. He believed he had brought the curse upon them with his part-bred blood, and so did his own people. They had begun to die, and it was in a final battle with the last remaining strong stallion of his own king, that Taranis lost his wing. His opponent tore it off him, blood flying through the air. The sight of his own blood sent Taranis into a murderous rage and he slaughtered the stallion, and he was left as the only remaining remnant of his species, as far as he knows.

He then wandered, alone. He began to seek power, looking for it where he could and looking for ways to control himself better. He became more like a stone, harder and rougher around the edges and solid through to his core. He wanders now, with many years past and bearing the mark of his murderous mind on his shoulder, where the tassel of his wing flutters. Taranis still wants power; and he wants to dominate everyone before him, and make them suffer for the loss of his home.
Other: Taranis has a psychological issue now, derived from when he was a child, being shunned and then losing his home. This problem in his head makes him blame others for his problems; he is a selfish, arrogant creature but part of it is psychological.

And there he is. Finally fleshed out and done And I'm happy. Hes being rped on the forum; hopefully soon my other Aquiletans will be joining in!
