You should post stuff like this, even as a 'joke'.
People with eating disorders are triggered so easily you can't even imagine.
If this was me, back in my days, and someone posted a comment like this, I would just go into one of my episodes, you know?
Respect.

This helps me visualize for my novel; my main guy character is anorexic with bulemic tendencies, and it is interesting to see an artisit show an anorexic male. This is captivating, and very moving. It makes me cringe inside, and breaks my heart, but for this piece that is great.

Say, Iv'e been wondering; is there a difference between athletic people & anorexics? I mean, don't celebrities accused of being anorexic like Angelina Jolie & Keira Knightley work out?

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

NikolasBrummer In reply to GHENGIZZ [2011-08-29 16:21:25 +0000 UTC]

There is a difference. I once knew a guy and he ate and ate and ate but did a lot of sports and ended up going to a treatment because he was so thin.
Anorexic people just stop eating.

Daemonic-Fae In reply to GHENGIZZ [2011-08-13 02:57:14 +0000 UTC]

Athletic people eat (one would assume they eat healthy) and gain muscle through working out.

Anorexics don't eat, so there is nothing to turn into muscle. They simply waste away.

GHENGIZZ In reply to Daemonic-Fae [2011-08-13 20:35:37 +0000 UTC]

Okay, it's just that I hear about these celebrities working out but also being anorexic so I was just a little confused.
Thanks for clearing things up!!

They can work out and be anorexic, but without food, they'd just waste away faster.

No. :c

GHENGIZZ In reply to Daemonic-Fae [2011-08-13 23:02:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's a show on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com (the home of the nostalgia critic), where the host Linkara (who's a feminist) reviews mostly bad comic books. In this video, he reviews a comic called Athena, & says this when he sees Athena being drawn as curvy as opposed to muscular like on the front cover: "Subsequently, she's less muscular so she can be traditionally attractive as opposed to the stronger looking appearance on the cover. Because why would we want our heroine to be more muscular? We need to have her be curvaceous, so we can get our jollies off!" Here is the video:[link]
But Christina Hendricks was curvy, & a lot of women saw her as a role model for other women because of her curvaceous figure. And I remember this picture [link] comparing her & Madonna, & Madonna works out.

Daemonic-Fae In reply to GHENGIZZ [2011-08-13 23:07:13 +0000 UTC]

Women are naturally less buff because of body chemicals. They do get muscle, just not as noticeable unless they take steroids, usually. It's different than simply wasting away, visibly. :U

Arcuri1 In reply to GHENGIZZ [2011-08-13 01:47:12 +0000 UTC]

Athletic people gain muscle instead of fat, therefore their bodies don't look entirely as thin as a 'normal' anorexic.
While as anorexic people starve themselves lose not only internal fat, but also some muscle mass, therefore they look unbelievably thin due to them not eating.
While athletic people do diet, at least they eat. Anorexic people have some mental capacity to where their bodies tell them not to eat.

Well, it's a podcast on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com where the host Linkara (who's a feminist by the way), reviews mostly bad comics. In one episode, he reviewed a comic called Athena, & this is what he said when he saw the heroine being drawn as curvaceous as opposed to muscular like on the cover: "Subsequently she's less muscular here so she can be traditionally attractive as opposed to the stronger looking appearance on the cover. Because why would we want our heroine to have muscle? We want to her to be curvaceous, so we can get our jollies off!"
He does have a point, & I'm sure he's in support of anorexia or has anything against curvy women, it's just that after hearing that I'm curious to hear his views on the issue. But I haven't been able to talk to him about it yet. I asked him about this on his facebook page, but he hasn't replied yet.
I also seeing this Hendricks, & yet Madonna works out so dosen't that make her healthy?
Here is a link to both the pictureicture[link] negatively comparing Madonna to Christina & the episode of AtopTheFourthWall where Linkara reviews Athena:[link]

Being overweight is healthier then being underweight. And what you just said is unbelievably rude. Go up to the family of someone who has a loved one starving themselves and tell them you wish you had their loved one's disorder. :/

why would you want anorexia? eating disorders are nothing to joke about and people with them do not live happy lives at all.

I i don't whether if your just joking or not but be careful what you post. D: you might offend someone.

I'm really thin and all my doctors think I'm anorexic, I never hear the end of it. Speaking of which, I have an appointment with my nutritionist in a few days. >_< This really speaks to me, since anorexia is unfairly a part of my life.
