People should stop believing media, thin does not mean healthy.
You should calculate your BMI and eat according to that.

BMI doesn't take into account muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so someone who is fit and muscled could be considered obese.

Indeed, I get tired easily, I have no stamina or physical integrity, being skinny sucks.

Thanks for posting this. I'm a guy who has suffered from anorexia. I wanted to look like one of those skinny bishounen from anime, specifically Lelouch from Code Geass. I told myself: "I WANT to be a weak, scrawny, skinny boy! Fangirls love that stuff!"
I'm such an idiot.

Physically, yes. Mentally, I think I'm still anorexic.

Ugh...terrible. (I mean the disease, not the deviation.) This is a wonderful political statement.

The kicker is that this is a male figure. People often ignore that anorexia is experienced in the male gender too. I once had a conversation with a friend who thought it was a disease exclusive to the female race...
I like that you didn't show his face. It sort of brings out the idea behind the photo a little more. You're not focusing on a person, you're focusing on a disease, or at least the embodiment of one, and you did a good job in capturing that.
The pose is interesting too. The way the hands appear to be clawing at the body: it's almost as if they're trying desperately to claw off even more body fat because the body is "still not good enough."
Anyways. This is a very powerful photo that conveys a lot of emotion; you can feel the anguish and pain behind it. Just looking at this poor man's ribs just makes me feel like I too am starving (though I'm far from it).

Some would argue that some pictures speak for themselves. I argue that those pictures are those that require the most back story to them because the message is so focused the question is never asked "why?".
They say A picture is worth a thousand words, perhaps that is true more for pictures like this one that leaves people speechless than any others. Without context it leaves their mind scrambling for an answer to this "why?". So much so that many of them forget to ask it, because they are so caught up in thinking.
It makes them think. A picture that makes people think, especially about a single subject such as this, is a picture that perhaps is worth more than the thousand words people say they are worth, not because it speaks for itself, but because we speak for it, our MINDS speak for it.
Cue the phrase "this blows my mind!"
That being said, yes you can be too thin, but I think that's the message this is trying to get across, and it does it so well that the only words I can think of to describe it only happen in my head, and thus it speaks for itself, because the thoughts it incurs are so universal.
