This. This needs to be everywhere because there are people that don't know their worth, or much less, that there's a God. They're busy trying to "make" or "invent" themselves not realizing that they have already been made! They have already been "invented!" That's why they're here! yet they know not their purpose because they know not God. What an exhilarating revelation they might come to if they would but take a moment to lift their eyes to heaven and seek out who He really is. What mountain-moving joy they might have if they knew Him. <3

This is about the most useful thing I could have read- mostly because you backed up the claim to rightful self-esteem as far as the only reason to believe it; otherwise it'd read as pride to me and I'd oppose it, but you backed it up with logic at least; kudos on that.
Thank you indeed for that touch!
BRILLIANT stamps, Nilopher! I love the morals in each and every one of them that I see: the standards at least!
Sincerely;
Adalack.

Wow; I really needed to see this today. Just minutes ago I felt completely worthless and like I was a waste of space.
Then this came up in my notifications! Now that I think about it, I feel better.
Thanks be to God!
And you too, for posting this!)

It is worthless to claim worth by default. True worth is worth striving for.

How is someone supposed to grow without support and respect? Humanity advanced so far due to our ability to support each other? Didn't you ever take biology? History? Bible studies? They all point to the same thing. Your independent living is your own undoing.

There is a difference between worth and the quest for worth. Claiming the former by default precludes one from embarking on the latter; respect would be misplaced in this instance; support is better given by teaching one to walk without a crutch.
Independently, if you will. It is the basis of true respect between people. It is where the advancement of humanity has come from. It is in fact the alternative that offers mere subsistence, stagnation.. undoing.

Although the slew of words didn't in any way relate to you specifically, it basically represents this: if you're going to med school next year, well done and good luck. Don't make the mistake of thinking it came from bible studies.

I'm surprised by your rationality... sorry for being petty.
But isn't religion a philosophy like any other? I think there's an important way of thinking that can be observed from all these different religions.
I've seen a lot of severely mentally ill people turn to religion and I don't think it's fair to take that one salvation away from them.
You know what? Two of the most prominent surgeons in my town are devout Christians. (but they're racist and homophobic so... they lost my respect smh)

Philosophies aren't all created equal.. they represent ways of thinking, and as such, they can help or hurt, depending on how well they fit the situation. The trouble with most religions is that they profess to represent *the* truth, rather than *an* idea. One of the most terrible such "truths" is Original Sin, here seen in reverse, presented as a value or worth. We are worth "the death of a king", meaning that we're sinners, but worth saving: if we were not sinners, then the death would not have been necessary; if we were not worth saving, then the king would not have chosen to die.
It presents us with a concept of value which derives from a negative within ourselves, but raised to a positive by some God. It is terrible because accepting it would lead us to cease all attempts to be great as humans, and instead fall to our knees and pray for this God to raise us to glory. That is why it leads away from advancement and into stagnation.
Anyway, for my part, sorry for trolling. I think I'm making a valid point, but I'm sure it's not welcome in this thread, and I didn't let that stop me.

The Bible isn't representing us with so much value that we could just pray and we become powerful it is representing to us a fact that we could pray and help to become powerful will come. it is such like having a lab partner or even having a friend and the negatives are still there, however, God has forgiven us for those negatives so that we can continue living without them he wants to put those positive values to use and negatives would just wear us down. It is as if you built 1 million race cars each one is special to you because you created it and you can tweak them and fix them up taking away the negatives and adding positives making them better similar to how God treats us he made each and every one of us and he takes pride and joy in making us better.

It's an appealing idea, to be certain. But does it then make sense to you that the racecar's veneration of its creator would make said creator tweak it more? And does it make sense that every racecar is created inherently flawed, and then fixed, which is then cause for further veneration? Actually, that's just silly.
Even if God created the racecar, the racecar has value because it is a racecar, not because God created it. God's existence being necessarily uncertain (because otherwise faith would be meaningless), a better philosophy is to take the racecar, strive for a purpose, and find such value as you're able. If God exists, it is the best thing to do with the gifts he has bestowed. If he doesn't exist, it's even more so. But an important first step is to acknowledge that value is a thing that must be earned.

Actually, if you go for the whole blood of christ thing, you're worth 1 7billionth of that at most and possibly as little as 1 200billionth. God isn't alleged to have let his son die for any one person, it was for all of humanity so, you know...
