Description
A ward against demons:
Demons can be very obsessive compulsive (especially our inner demons). So, to keep them at bay during the night, one should keep a jar of pebbles outside the bedroom door. Demons will be compelled to count them all before crossing the threshold. Be sure to shake the jar nightly so the demons will lose track of their prior tally and pray that they count slowly.

Another ward:
The witch bottle hung around the doorknob is also a protection against evil. It can be filled with urine, rusted nails, thorns, and other unpleasant things. This is often used to reverse hostile magic but also thought to deter invading demons, for they will have to expel this painful mixture themselves.
