Description
A ward against demons:Demons can be very obsessive compulsive (especially our inner demons). So, to keep them at bay during the night, one should keep a jar of pebbles outside the bedroom door. Demons will be compelled to count them all before crossing the threshold. Be sure to shake the jar nightly so the demons will lose track of their prior tally and pray that they count slowly.
Another ward:
The witch bottle hung around the doorknob is also a protection against evil. It can be filled with urine, rusted nails, thorns, and other unpleasant things. This is often used to reverse hostile magic but also thought to deter invading demons, for they will have to expel this painful mixture themselves.

Greedy apes, like the heroine curses them to be. I personally think apes aren´t a complete symbol for greediness, though they have already transformed. Hmmm ...I really like the mood in this, blue, dark... well done mate!!

You bring up two points of interest. One is the greedy monkey trap, which I almost incorporated into this painting. Are you familiar with that?
The other is that I used to work at a psychiatric hospital, I was security so I had keys to EVERYTHING. One building did clinical research on Rhesus monkeys, they were all in cages of course and wore these metal backpacks that injected them with heroin at regular intervals. They probably injected them with other drugs too. Some of them were very hostile. It was a very surreal, sci-fi scenario.

That is amazing! I worked at some psychiatric institutions as well, and got some friends, who were/are in as in-patients. You know drugs to the wheelchair. 
Interesting experiments they do. Always having in mind that this is sorcery on public´s dime
Poor monkeys wearing those backpacks. Yeah that pic should look a lot like those out of futuristic or marvel comics, nice scene of course. Shocking somehow, crazy job, though interesting and very much badass - evolving, I mean the scientists.

Very nice text or description of the rituals. I can remember that we had talked about this pebble method to another picture of you a long time ago.
I did not know this other version of the filled witch bottle (with urine, yuck) yet. I would rather draw a pentagram on the door.
To your drawing itself: I love your evening light / sparse light source scenes very much but I told you that already. The fingers of the ape demon in the front look very realistic and scary. Watching monkeys in the real life is scary enough, albeit extremely interesting. The posterior monkey looks sooo cute.

A pentagram might invite them, I drew an incorrect compass on the door to confuse them, but it confused the image so I erased it.
Thanks, I like alliterative titles. Yes, monkeys and apes are too close to human, so they creep me out a bit.
I did a study for the demons - Study, chimps , the guy in the back is almost the same, almost.
The top left chimp has alopecia, I almost used him as the reference, he looks kinda demonic. Check out his forearm, he's a beast in the best terms (idk how to say what I mean). If I arm wrestle him he'll put my arm in another dimension :] Really, look at the power in that forearm.
