Description
This is the first version:Many people talked about the text being too small and I thought it was pretty crowded and scattered (though I still think it was a good first attempt). So to make a better poster, I condensed the crap out of it, both in text and in images to make essentially the same points but with less space, more pictures, and fewer words. I also uploaded a MUCH larger version so you guys can print your own though I DO have it available as prints over at Redbubble:
Buy it here if you like it
POSTER @ REDBUBBLE: [link]
Anyway, I think it turned out really well so what do you think?
EDIT: Cheeseheads are Green Bay Packers fans (football) and the Blue Army are fans of Aerosmith
EDIT2: A lot of people today have commented that they can't believe that anyone would consider KH girly, but it's been more than a decade since it came out so many people forgot or were too young to remember. It's a "Disney Princess" game that uses the word "heart" a lot and has touchy feely "I LOVE YOU MAN" bromance between the main characters. Obviously it's awesome, but I've seen guys who couldn't get past that and wouldn't play the game.

... Seriously?
I've been watching you for a long, long time Nimaru. Since I first joined the fandom, to be honest. I love your work and everything like that... And just this past spring, I did a research paper on Bronies for my English class... And I used that very article as a source.
It wasn't until today, when I decided to check in on some of your work that I missed while doing other things, that I find out that you were the author of that article, and a major asset in my graduation. Thank you, Nimaru, and I'll definitely be paying much more attention to your work here, as well as on The Geek Professor!
EDIT: /)_- how did I not notice the link to your DA page at the bottom, in the "Related Information" box?
EDIT 2: The school blocks DeviantArt. I wouldn't have had access to that link (ugh, I need to go to bed before I screw something else up... /)_- )...

I've been thinking of doing a lot of my Geek articles as videos on Youtube. I hope they'll be even more useful.

Thank you. I did read it and I think that you are right. I can still say I'm not a brony (and I'm still not interested in watching the show) it definitely answered my questions as to why this attracted a seemingly out of place demographic. And I have to admit, some of the fan pics and comics on MLP are pretty hilarious.
Once again, thanks for explaining.

Thanks so much for making this! There have been times where someone has mentioned the "outrageous outfits" thing and I'm glad you were able to give me an example for a defense. I've never thought about it in this light before and I'm glad to have been enlightened.
Well done!

Chances are that this would be very helpful for a real hater/troll, but it's a good way to tell if someone can be reasonable about it or not. Send them the link and if they're still being asses about it, time to give up.

D-Goldenheart In reply to Nimaru [2014-04-10 21:23:51 +0000 UTC]
Well you shouldn't give up on little things like that. Just ignore them. And they would have to be pretty big jerks to still hate on or troll bronies and other fandoms because of their personal problems...

I appreciate this poster not because I am a Brony myself, but because people need to see it viewed in a different light.
Lots of people think it is weird or different, but it is harmless fandom and there is nothing wrong with that!

Not a Bronie myself, even if I watched the show, but you make many points here. It's a great chart that should get more view, just for the sake of tolerance to many fandoms and also the right for guys to enjoy shows that are seen as "girly". 21st century powaaa!

Nimaru In reply to Sanatio [2014-04-10 06:55:36 +0000 UTC]
Indeed. A lot of people forget, but Anime fans used to get all kinds of crap for watching anime. Especially if they watched "girl's" anime as well.

BTW I'm re-watching MLP right now (thank to your great article on your website), I gave it a try a year ago but there were not many episodes back then to get me hooked. Also in the same time there was a serie I loved so I was much occupied by it.

Just a quick point here.
It took the producers about 6 episodes to figure out that Bronies existed.Β
I wasn't even truly convinced that I liked it until I saw the Season 1 finale, and even then, it was only because I recognized the similarities of "At the Gala" with the Finale from "Into the Woods," which I had just performed.
Turns out the guy who writes the music for the show was a long-time student of the guy who wrote Into the Woods.
From one Doubty mc doubterson to another, I understand why you quit, it certainly WAS annoying and poorly written for the first few episodes, and lets just say that Pinkie Pie's humor has come a long way since Season 1.

No worries. I also have tried a few things that looked dumb and found out that they really were (ed, edd, and eddy, King of the Hill, etc). But different strokes and all that. I don't like them and other people do. Nothing to get worked up over.

Agree with Fenwolf2003 and Arcane-Stars . But I also know what it's like to be looked at "that way" when you enjoy something that is considered a social taboo. I'm a guy and I've been a fan of MLP since G1 when I was a kid. It's a part of my life as much as doing the dishes or driving to work is. My wife and co-workers find it odd that I enjoy cartoons, but it's not like it's always in their face (unless they're browsing the internet).
Do whatever you want in moderation. As long as you're happy and you're not conflicting with someone else's happiness, who gives a frak what others think/say?

Nimaru In reply to FelixCarter [2014-01-24 23:36:09 +0000 UTC]
Precisely. Hate over things that are different, but don't harm, threaten, or affect you or any innocent others is a sign of human and societal immaturity. For every person who stops behaving this way, the world becomes a better place.
