Description
This is the first version:Many people talked about the text being too small and I thought it was pretty crowded and scattered (though I still think it was a good first attempt). So to make a better poster, I condensed the crap out of it, both in text and in images to make essentially the same points but with less space, more pictures, and fewer words. I also uploaded a MUCH larger version so you guys can print your own though I DO have it available as prints over at Redbubble:
Buy it here if you like it
POSTER @ REDBUBBLE: [link]
Anyway, I think it turned out really well so what do you think?
EDIT: Cheeseheads are Green Bay Packers fans (football) and the Blue Army are fans of Aerosmith
EDIT2: A lot of people today have commented that they can't believe that anyone would consider KH girly, but it's been more than a decade since it came out so many people forgot or were too young to remember. It's a "Disney Princess" game that uses the word "heart" a lot and has touchy feely "I LOVE YOU MAN" bromance between the main characters. Obviously it's awesome, but I've seen guys who couldn't get past that and wouldn't play the game.

It's because the fanbase is crowded with autistic neckbeards who have no understanding whatsoever of social cues or what is and isn't considered socially acceptable.Β
It doesn't translate to a "right and wrong," it translates to "face the fact that the overwhelming majority of people in a modern first world society will find you tremendously off-putting for enjoying a cartoon about talking horses."Β
And this also applies to any other cartoon. If all these sperglords were hyped up about Spongebob instead, the hatred would shift. It is not the medium itself that is the problem, but rather the people themselves who enjoy it and seem to enjoy telling the entire planet that they do.Β
TL;DR If you're a brony, fucking fantastic, keep that shit to yourself.Β

Agreed 100%. Casually enjoying a show for entertainment's sake is fine, but making it so public that it's literally impossible to ignore is ridiculous. It's a fucking TV show, getting obsessed over it is just plain retarded, and forcing it down everyone's throats is even worse. Then after shoving their shitty fandom in everyone's faces, they go on to make posts like this to complain about the fact that people don't like it when fandoms are shoved in front of their faces. Also, the fact that they're so popular on Deviantart results in them drowning out most of the actually worthwhile submissions in a torrent of shitty fan art, which are only popular because they are part of a shitty fandom. Deviantart is essentially Tumblr, except it's harder to filter out all the faggotry.
TL;DR: I don't care if you enjoy a show for 7 year olds and make poorly drawn porn of it. Just don't shit up an entire website with your autism (like that will ever happen)

Autistic neckbeards? You're part of the problem. I'm a brony too, and will talk with my friends about it when it comes up, or initiate a conversation around it. Also, as stated above, all fandoms have the people who will bring it up at inappropriate times, and try to force it on other people. Calling the majority of fans autistic neckbeards who do not understand social cues is rude and offensive. And since when is it a crime to say what you like? Some people will be brash and offensive about it, but not all. Don't hate on the many because of a few.

But you are, you are stereotyping an entire fandom just because you don't like it. I have never shoved it down someones throat, nor have any of my friends. Most of the time when it comes up, I am met with immediate hate by people I have never met, especially online. You are part of the problem because instead of saying, "Some bronies are rude for shoving it down others throats, but most are ok people who wont." You instead accuse all of us of being assholes with no respect for others, but that is nothing but a bald-faced lie. I am not trying to make you like the show, or make you watch it. I am only saying that you are continuing the unfounded hate against a population of mostly well adjusted people, who aren't assholes.
TL;DR: Stop being a stereotyping asshole, you aren't helping anyone, shut your hate-full mouth and be nice for once.

Brony or Anime fandom is not a cure for your loneliness. These communities temporarily make you feel warm and safe in a little bubble of supportiveness and camaraderie, but you're interacting on the level of children. These sorts of interactions might be harmless, but most bronies or otaku are involved in the fandom because they're lonely and have poor social skills and are looking for somewhere to fit in.Β
You're starting with a low baseline of social aptitude and then spending lots of time thinking and speaking and acting in a manner that marks you as a weirdo.Β
This may seem like an acceptable compromise if it makes you feel happier, if it fills up your contact list and takes the edge off your loneliness, but before you know it you'll be knocking on 30. Age advances on us all, and as you get older and uglier your interest will seem creepier and creepier. You'll run out of friends who are in the fandom and your escapism will fail you. By the time you realize it, it'll be far too late.Β
Fandom is escapism, like drink or drugs. It temporarily alleviates your suffering, but at what cost? If you feel overwhelmed by the adult world, the last thing you want to be doing is running away into a fantasy. What you think is keeping you afloat is really dragging you down.Β
Bust out laughing at "well-adjusted people," considering the exact opposite is the truth.
TL;DR enjoy your eventual suicide
π: 0 β©: 1
vines928 In reply to zac00 [2014-01-26 01:55:49 +0000 UTC]
Are you fucking kidding me? Are you really that stupid? Fandoms aren't just an "escape" most people, myself included, are normal people who greatly enjoy a show/book/movie/band and would like to associate with others who enjoy the same thing. I am one of the most well-adjusted, normal people you would meet (if it weren't for the anonymity of the internet). I enjoy ponies, I also enjoy Sherlock, Supernatural, Doctor Who, almost every genre of music (except some country and gangster rap). If you met me, and didn't know I was a brony you would most likely assume I am a normal person who enjoys music and games. Fandoms aren't just escapism, its a place to be with friends. I don't suffer at all, if you assume that everyone who likes a form a media, and is in a fandom, is suicidal and will kill themselves, you are wrong. It is true some people use fandoms to escape, I do not.
TL;DR: Some people use fandoms to escape, I, and most other people, do not, they simply enjoy a show/movie/book/band and the community around it. Some people won't kill themselves because of fandoms, and that is something to be thankful for. I, and a lot of others, will not kill themselves.
if that was TL, heres this: Fandoms do NOT = suicidal tendecies, fandoms = a community of people who enjoy something.
if that was TL, heres this: Shut the fuck up, you asshole.

Β What the fuck is wrong with you. You are completely missing the point of all of what I have been saying. Being in a fandom does not mean inevitable suicide. Being in a fandom means liking something, and wanting to communicate with other fans of that same thing. One, I am not suicidal. Two, none of my friends in fandoms are suicidal. Three, nobody in any fandom I have met has ever been suicidal. Four, I, and anyone in any fandom, has friends, and is never alone, cause the fandom will always be there. Five. SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP. Just shut your shit-spewing mouth, and leave the fandoms alone. If you don't like it, leave it alone. We never instigated you, and you didn't have to comment on this.
TL;DR: Please shut up, you're sounding like a complete idiot, and nobody wants to hear it.
Β BTW: I'll be over in a band fandom if you have anything else to say, idiot.

Not crying, just pissed because assholes like you stereotype entire fandoms based on interactions with few, or unfounded hate. You have no factual basis on which to call all bronies "autistic neckbeards". Especially considering that some famous people such as Gabe Newell, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Emma Watson are all also Bronies/Pegasisters (I don't have any information on what Emma Watson refers to herself in the community). If you are willing to consider these people autistic neckbeards, then you are so very wrong.
TL;DR: Shut up, just please shut up. For the love of god shut up. Almost every single thing you have stated is wrong. Nobody is crying, and I am secure in my sexuality as a straight male.

Very well put. Each fandom has nuts. As a fan of LOTR and The Hobbit I have met people who are furious if anyone makes fun of the movies or books. I hate those folk. Any member of a fandom should be able to take legitimate criticism of their favorite movie/tv show/book.
And of course each fandom has the right to respond to any criticism, so long as it is in a civil manner.
