Description
I just made this at home because I could. For no special occasion.I stole this design off of a Wilton picture I saw.
Marble cake with chocolate ganache in between the layers and an buttercream icing on the outside.

No special occassion!? This looks like such a fancy cake. It is so beautiful, and it looks like you put a lot of effort into it. It definitely shows.
How did you make the rose petals look crimped like that?

Crimped? You mean the rough edges? Those are only because the icing was a little too stiff. Normally I would make the roses with smooth edges.
Also, in the end, the actual decorating of this cake took me about half an hour, maybe a little less if you take out the time I spent looking for my rose nail. I always lose that thing! ^_^

Wow! Buttercream roses, I am impressed! It looks like the decoration must have taken ages. I envy anyone who gets to witness (and taste) this cake!
How did you make the roses? Do you have some sort of ultra-thin piping nozzle?

I just used a #104 tip in a disposable bag and a rose nail to make the roses, then lifted them onto the cake using a small pair of scissors.
I wish I had made the buttercream a little softer, because the rose edges are a little rough as a result of the stiffer icing I used.
