I found this picture today when I cleaned my room oΓ΄ It was an unfinished sketch and I thought I could color it.. and so I did.And... this scottish boy is also up for auction on Furbid. :] If anyone is interested in him, here's the link: [link]

Actually it was a commission, but the person who ordered the picture never send any money. So I had this unfinished sketch and because I actually liked it very much I finished it.

How do you get such crisp lines in real media? Did you use ink or colored pencil to do the fur texture? or something else? That's something that always gets me is getting things to look really sharp edged.

For the line I use a CopicMultiliner, 0,1 size. Or 0,05 for the fine details.
For the fur I first use watercolors and in this piece I experimented a bit with acrylics.

Hansdsome colouring job! The claws and eyes are especially effective there, with the sheen on them.
Is that watercolour paint? The background looks that way, though the black and grey detailing on the fur nearly seems like acrylic with the way you've done it. : )
