In Progress: Loki & Sigyn. This is to illustrate the nordic myth as written in the Prose/Poetic Edda using influences of traditional dress.

When Loki manipulates blind Hoder into killing Balder with a mistletoe spring, Loki and his two sons fled, Loki turning himself into a salmon. But they are caught. Váli is changed into a wolf by the gods, and rips apart his brother Narfi. The entrails are then used to tie Loki to three stones in a glen of hot springs, after which the guts turn to iron, and Skaði places a snake above Loki. Sigyn places herself beside him, where she holds out a bowl to catch the dripping venom. However, when the bowl becomes full she leaves to pour out the venom. As a result, Loki is again described as shaking so violently that the planet shakes, and this process repeats until he breaks free, setting Ragnarok into motion.

I just think it is such a tragic and touching story. How steadfast and loyal poor Sigyn must be even after witnessing such a horrendous act against her sons. It's pity she doesn't appear more in the myths.

I have employed artist license in the positions of Loki's bindings so Sigyn could hold him this way and also chosen not to cover Sigyn's hair with a wimple as traditionally all married women did.
