Ezio Auditore - Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Started work on this costume in early 2012 and I've worn it to several cons remaking several parts as time went on. This was by far my hardest cosplay project and I am glad to say it is finally complete. Belt, sashes and arm bracer made out of tanned leather, while the "metal" pieces are sculpting clay. The upholstery fabric I used is a blue-greenish mix, a slightly different shade then what it looks like in-game but I found its pattern very interesting. All embroidery done by hand. I'll be sharing more pictures soon!
Modeling my Ezio is a good friend of mine who is quiet the talented artist himself (no DA).

photoshoot started as a surprise for his sons who love AC, but truth be told the costume looked much better on him (the model) then on me lol

Oh, my god, that is so amazing!!! The costume, the leather, the fur, the metal-clay-that-looks-so-flipping-real!!! And all of it worn by a badass dude with a power beard! Respect!

Btw you say you used tanned leather for belts and sashes, any tips for working with such leather? I'm going to make a costume with several belts and leather arm bracers as well and was kind of wondering how to go about it (also I'm not exactly sure about tanned leather, if its worked with differently since we have next to no leathers available in my country, mostly just "fake" leather...)

I get my equipment from a local leather crafts store that sells all the tools, dyes and vegetable tanned leather I need for most of my equipment. Perhaps there is something similar in Helsinki? The routine for most items I've made is cutting the shapes, tooling the design, adding the dye, the finisher and finally touching it up with some antiquing gel. Starting leatherwork requires a bit of an investment but once you have the necessary tools as long as you have access to leather, the opportunities are endless. It sort of comes down to your budget for the project.

Yeah, I know one store thats all about leather, but no tools, so I'll have to order those (also gets a bit cheaper that way). Also, cosplay in itself is pretty expensive so I guess worrying about buying materials/tools for future use as well isn't exactly a problem in the long run, as you said ^^ And thank you for the tips!

This is just beautiful. I love the embroidery on the hood. Shame there is so much noise in the lower part of the image.

thank you, yes unfortunately the original image turned out very dark, we were playing around with some external flashes; tried to salvage it a bit by upping the expo in post production but oh well. I plan on upload a couple of more later on, hopefully better ones.
