Description
Here is a shot of my helmet from my newest cosplay, the Warlock class from Destiny. This is the first time I tried making a helmet and I am pretty happy how it turned out. I have based the helmet, as well as the entire costume of the art reference provided by bungie. The helmet was modeled by the FloatingFatman on the replica prop forums, while my friend helped me with the Pepakura. Once the helmet was pieced together on cardstock, I layered it with several layers of fiberglass and bondo. Getting the clean smooth surface was the hardest part that took several steps of bondo, priming and sanding. Finally I finished it with a few layers of painting and rub and buff detailing to give it a weathered look. Out of all my costuming accessories, this piece took the longest, taking up well over a months available crafting time.
