Description
"Ever since I was young I could remember being a little different, maybe not physically but mentally. I could gather up all the information I had learned and store it in my brain indefinitely. There was no doubt, I was a genious but suffice it to say, my knowledge paled in comparison to the Shredder's. How is that possible you ask? Well, anyone who is able to cheat death time and time again must hold some secret... the secret to eternal life perhaps? Either way, knowledge is a tool both used for the good of mankind and for his distruction. Knowledge is a power that can be achieved by all, but placed in the hands of the enemy, it can prove to be quite frightening. Knowledge is power, but how one chooses to use it is even more powerful."Donatello
Finally, Donnie gets his time in the spotlight and a nice narration to boot.
Enjoy!

I know I've already told you, but I LOVE your style! It really looks like I should be looking at a page in the TMNT comic or something! It really reminds me of...I think his name was Craig Farley? Or something like that, who used to do a hekuva lot of art for the TMNT! Yet...your style also incorporates other elements that blend together flawlessly! I'm totally in love with your work and I look forward to seeing more from you!

funny you should say that because I am Craig Farley.................................just kidding. I wish. As you can see I worship the guys style so much so that I incorporated a bit of his into mine. So you saying my work looks like Farley's is a big compliment. Sadly, he really didn't do too much work for Mirage. He did the covers for City at War plus a few others not to mention two full issues. I don't want to go knocking Lawsons work because I don't like to be mean but if Farley would be doing the art for the current series, it would probably sell better and I'd also be very happy.
Thanks for the kind words I should be puting up a new Donatello picture pretty soon but it'll only be in pencil form for the time being. I eventually want to color it all nice and everything.

You almost gave me a heart-attack with that! LOL!
Seriously though, you're more than welcome your art is phenomenal! And I know what you mean when you mention Jim Lawson. *sigh* Please don't toss tomatoes in my direction for this...but I'm one of those people who would love to buy the TMNT comics from Mirage but simply can't bring myself to do so 'cause I'm simply not a fan of Mr. Lawson's style. I know, it's a horrible thing to say and I feel shallow saying it...but it's true. Ever since I was young and STARTED reading comics I could never buy one if I didn't like the style the artist used. *shrugs*
A Craig Farley comic would be great! I loved how he did the eyes and the facial expressions. It's too bad he never did too much for the TMNT.

Hey, I'm not gonna throw tomatoes because I feel the same way about
Lawson's work but I buy the books regardless because it's TMNT. It's a
double edged sword really. If you stop buying the books because of the
art then Laird might cancel everything but if you continue to buy them
then they continue the books with the less than favourable art.
I don't know if you're aware of this but Craig Farley does commissions.......
for $300.00. I know that might seem like a lot but you get the original with
some color added. That's something I might look into eventually. You can check
out his site at [link] . There should be a drop down menu in the
upper right where it says, "About A.C. Farley"
I don't know how true it is but I was told that Farley was going to do a future issue of "Tales of the TMNT". I'll be in heaven if that happens.

I agree, that narration is perfectly Don.
I like the shading style you used for this.

The shading only took about a half hour and as for the narration, I always love to do those. Now If I could just persuade Peter Laird to let me do my own TMNT comic book series then I could put that narration to good use.
I'd have to say my personality reflects Don's pretty closely and I also have a bit of Leo in me as well where I have to be absolutely perfect. Well, with my artwork anyway.
Thanks for the comment.

Awesome illustration of Donatello
I love the clean line art, and the neat monochrome shading in this picture. His expression feels very in character as well. Brilliant work!

Well thanks sis. I'm glad you like. The clean line art is the result of doing everything in Photoshop. Some of the art that I've been doing was all done by hand such as the more recent piece "In My Skin"
I've been thinking of changing my style for the turtles to reflect the 2007 movie version but I havn't decided yet.
Thanks for writing.

Anytime, mate
well, it all depends on how KEEN you are on wanting to reflect the style of the upcoming film.

No, I'm not gonna hit you. Okay, maybe a lite slap but yeah I really like the narration too and I think it would be nice if it was used in a new comic book series *hint, hint, Peter Laird*
I'm glad you at least like the picture a little.
It's always a pleasure to hear from ya.

I learn from the best. (Craig Farley) yeah okay, I'm a bit of a dork so much so that I tried to mimic his style exactly, way back. Then I thought, you know what, what's the point in copying off of someone elses style so I took what I liked with his stuff preferably the mouth and eyes and let my own style take over for the rest. I hope what I came up with is somewhat different.
I guess my style is okay but sometimes I wish I could get it to look more detailed and gritty looking.
Thanks for the comment.
Oh, did you read my story "The Test" by any chance?
