Description

Finally got around to making a tutorial for my wings.  Sorry it's not in tutorial formatting because I'm a newb and can't figure it out.  I hope it helps and I like seeing outcome photos =^-^=

You'll have to download to view, sorry.

One question: With the wire screening, Is that Chicken wire or something smaller?

I used a smaller wire screen I found in the garden section of home depot. It was kind of stiff to work with and ended up being heavier then I would have liked. If you can find something lighter with smaller holes than chicken wire then you've got it made

On the right side of the screen there is a download button, click that, it's a word file because I'm new at making tutorials and didn't know how to do it any other way.  I hope it helps =^-^=

nevermind, I figured it out. One other question though, where did you get your feathers from?

For the quills, the primary feathers around the edges I used turkey quills from this site:
www.smileyme.com/feathers_turk…

Make sure you get the mixed set of both left and right because they have different curvature.  I only needed the one 1 lb pack from here to do all the primaries and edging.

For the filler feather I searched for a long time and finally decided on de-veined goose satinettes which I found in bulk on ebay.  It helps if the filler has no veins because it makes it easier to glue down onto the wire screening.

You could try here, I got some extra satinettes from this place towards the end of the build, but the only thing is they're not de-veined:

Hope this helps =^-^=

This is so perfect! I was planning on doing a Maleficent (Light) cosplay for A-Kon 2015 and this is almost the exact wing system I had in my head. I just couldn't think of how to do it. Thank you so much!
