Description

Okay, so a long-ass time ago, asked for a picture of Tracer getting a check-up from Mercy, and before I even started on drawing the scene, a bunch of random story scraps popped into my head. Of course, since all of them but this one were written before Reflections got released, the assumption I operated under was that the pregnancy came about the old-fashioned way, but obviously that no longer works. So now I guess Tracer is the pregnant one because Emily can’t, because reasons, and they couldn’t adopt because Tracer is technically kinda-sorta a felon, I guess. I don’t exactly know why they would forgo the use of a surrogate and decide to have the time ghost carry the baby, but it’s not like they have a lot of alternatives.

I guess I'll upload those separately?

If you're confused about who the redhead is, that would be Emily. Tracer's girlfriend (and in this scenario, wife).

Also, I'm not really happy with how Tracers goggles turned out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The doctor is in.

Angela Ziegler barely even noticed the hours passing by as she buried herself in her paperwork. Contrary to the impression that the Swiss medic’s demeanor gave off, it wasn’t  anything particularly urgent; just some requisition forms for some biotic supplies to fill out, and some incident reports to fill out regarding a few on-site injuries (though nothing more serious than some mild burns from the forge and a sprained ankle brought on by a short attention span and a new handheld game- child’s play for her to treat, really).  No, the only reason that Angela was so intently focused on her paperwork was that she needed something- anything- to take her mind off the icy lump of fear in the pit of her stomach. She knew it never should have done it, this never should have gone any further than friendship. He was her patient, after all! No matter which way she sliced it, it was wrong.

Angela was so focused on the forms in front of her that she had tuned everything else out, resulting in an unexpected knock at the door of her office nearly dumped her out of her chair. Quickly regaining her composure, a brief glance at the clock on her desk reminded her that the knock really shouldn’t have been unexpected at all. She had a very important appointment right about now, and it was one she was actually looking forward to. After all, she’d been a combat medic for most of her life; helping bring new life into the world wasn’t something she got to do very often. She immediately quashed the uncomfortable feelings that the thought dredged up, and took a deep breath before tapping a few keys on her console to open the doors. “Come in,” she called out. “You’re right on time.” The brushed metal doors slid smoothly open, and two women walked through it. Well, to be more accurate, one of them walked through it, and the other sort of… waddled through it.

No matter how often she saw Lena, between appointments and just normal encounters around the base, Angela could never quite get accustomed to the British woman’s new physique, specifically the medicine ball protruding from once slender frame of the woman known as Tracer. Lena had never been particularly petite or waifish (if Angela was to slap that label on any of her colleagues, it would probably be Hana, though how the gamer girl managed to maintain such a physique given her poor  diet was nothing short of a medical mystery), but it was still a bit of a shock the way she had changed over the last nine months. Equally shocking was the sudden bear hug that the young mother-to-be drew her into, a broad grin practically splitting her face in two. “Well, this is it innit?” the brit asked, practically beaming. “Last one before the big day, right?”

Angela nodded. “Correct, this is your last appointment before your due date. Now, if you don’t mind letting go of me, we can get started, ja?” Lena grinned sheepishly. As the medic disentangled herself from her younger friend’s embrace, she couldn’t help but notice a peculiar look passing over the brunette’s face; clearly, something was bothering Lena, and she had something she really wanted to say. Within moments, the younger woman was just as chipper as she had been before. Although she was slightly unnerved, Angela shook it off and proceeded with the exam.

It was fairly standard checkup, all things considered; she took Lena’s weight, her blood pressure, and various other measurements, and answered any of the couple’s questions about the birth; though everything was going pretty smoothly, she couldn’t help but notice the way that Lena kept looking her up and down. Briefly, Angela thought that the younger woman was checking her out, which was strange, given that Lena’s wife was right next to her, and she’d never shown any particular interest in Angela before. Furthermore, she didn’t look particularly aroused at all; if anything, she looked as though she was trying to solve a perplexing puzzle. Still, her uneasiness aside, Angela couldn’t help but crack a smile at how happy the couple had been to see their baby boy on the scan (“Oh come on luv,” Lena had said with a grin as she gently punched her teary-eyed wife’s forearm. “Are you seriously crying? I thought I was supposed to be the one whose emotions are all out of whack!”). It was only after a quick examination to see how dilated she was that Lena finally broke her silence.

“So tell me, does he know?”

“I… I beg your pardon?” Angela stammered, taken aback.

“I said, does Genji know?” Lena repeated, her arms crossed over her ample chest.

“What do you mean, hun?” Emily asked, confused by her wife’s sudden accusation.

“What I mean is that I’m not the only one in this room that’s up the spout.” Emily’s jaw dropped open in surprise at her wife’s declaration.

“How?” Angela whispered breathlessly. “How did you know?”

Lena shrugged. “Well, you’ve been real distracted lately, and you’ve been running to the loo a lot lately, so I knew something was up,” she explained. “And when I hugged you and noticed that you’d put on some weight, it all clicked. So tell me, does Genji know he’s gonna be a dad?” Mercy shook her head, sadly.

“I… I haven’t told him yet.” She admitted. “Partly because I’m afraid of how he’ll react, and partly because I’m disgusted with myself. I’m a doctor, I shouldn’t have gotten involved with one of my patients like that!”

“Why on earth would you be afraid of his reaction?” Lena scratched her head, perplexed. “It’s not like he’s going to hurt you or the baby, everyone knows that he adores you.”

“E…everyone?” Angela asked, wincing slightly: both women in front of her nodded. Damn, and she thought that they had been so sneaky about it too. “Anyway, that’s not what I’m afraid of. Genji’s made a lot of progress, but he still worries about his humanity. I’m afraid that his fear of being rejected by his own child would drive him away, or worse, what if the baby really was afraid of him? Can you imagine how much that would hurt him? Besides, I’m only eleven weeks along. I still haven’t decided if I’m…” Angela swallowed. “I still haven’t decided is I’m going to keep it.” Thick, fat tears stung her eyes as they began rolling down her cheeks. For the first time in her life, Angela felt truly helpless. She was surprised to feel a firm but gentle hand on her shoulder; wiping away her tears, she looked up to see that both Lena and Emily were smiling at her.

“Aw, don’t cry Angie, it’s gonna be alright. Whatever you choose to do, the restvof us will be behind you every step of the way.” Emily nodded.

“That’s right. We’re not just your friends, we’re your family, okay?” Angela sniffled. “But whatever you do, I think you should talk to Genji, he might just surprise you.”

With that, the expectant couple  bade their farewells, reminding Angela that if she ever needed to talked, their home was always open to her. As the doors closed behind Lena and Emily, Angela inhaled deeply before turning to face her console once more. Well, it was now or never, do or die time. “Genji, could you come to my office please? We need to talk.”

I imagine one thing they would have been worried about is, would Tracer's chronal disassociation have any negative effects on the baby.

On the other hand, a combination of her condition and the chronal accelerator could result in the baby gaining the ability to control time naturally.

Also Lena and Angela now have the titles of milf as, to paraphrase what sexfire  told me “Even pregnant women are mothers”.

Well, I reckon Mercy would have a strict "no blinking" rule in place.

The requestor specifically wanted Tracer to be the pregnant one (hell, this was asked for before Emily even existed).

Well, it's not like she's going to be blinking all over the map and REWINDING TO FULL HEALTH EVERY FUCKING TIME YOU'RE ABOUT TO KILL HER AAAUUGGGH when she's nine months pregnant.
