What a Really cool visitor to your yard Barb!
I see these once in a great while out on my walk about's, and it's always a special treat to get pics of them.. I think I've only got like 5 pics total of these birds in my gallery collected over 10 years!

For some reason even our city gardens have had an explosion of the Pileated woodpeckers,
I love seeing them after years of only seeing them in the forests around Lake Superior
