I always looked at Hayato as like Samwise Gamgee in a strange way. :3

I think that's strange to me, cause we don't actually get to see Amuro and Hayato's friendship really grow from simple neighbourhood buddies to comrades-in-arms like Frodo and Sam, more like we're just kinda told they are in the first episode, and it kinda just stays the same without any growth or shrink~ o-o

Maybe it's just when they actually do interact, it kinda gives that sort of vibe. :3

And subjective! Hayato was the first supporting character to do better than the titular hero. Hayato got the girl, the Terrible Trio, and the happy ending. In Zeta Gundam he started off in Florida with a big MS hauler to command. Amuro started in....Wyoming.
