I decided to post this short cartoon i made back in 2003....i was at the university at that time..i didn t have a scanner nor a computer...so i started to animate it without pencil testing...it took me one year to finish it...when i got all the stuff to edit it i was so thrilled cause it was the first time i could see one of my animations being alive on a screen..^__^I'm sorry for the quality...i should re-scan all the drawings but i dont really have time and they're more than 1,500
...maybe i will in the future...i've already 'clean' the scenes with Daphne's bird which you can see in my gallery...The story is about the myth of Apollo and Daphne (a lil' changed in kinda romantic way
) and of course i was influenced by the style of Disney's Hercules...i really hope you all like it and leave your comments
(which i love..).I hope to be able to post a better quality version very soon even though im now focused on my new cartoon

No amount of words can praise this well enough, but I would like to emphasise how technically perfect this short film is - especially after reading your comments, which makes me appreciate this one even more!
The way you play with the camera is brilliant. The use of long shots is very good, and the close-ups, like on Daphne's feet at the end, and the zoom-out wide shot to Apollo's leg after seeing Daphne coming out of the water... And animation wise, I loved Apollo's "acting", especially when he hesitates a little bit before "opening" the bushes to see what's behind it... So beautifully done!!! As I said, I can go on and one on this one...
I would like to note that the characters' designs are beautiful too. Yes Apollo looks like Herc a little bit, but his design is so "you", you know?! So is Daphne, the bird, and overall background style and look of this movie. this should be all cleaned-up, coloured and be sent to the mouse house!

Aw, this is amazing! You did a good job with cutting down the myth...you have a very neat style for animating. I'm sure this would be perfect if you colored it and stuff, but I know how freaking long that takes. D:

Extremely good, especially since you basically taught yourself how to animate. Definitely saw the Hercules influence, but you worked your own style into it too.

yes im serious...when the little mermaid came out i was a child and totally blown away...as soon as i got the video one year later i started to watch the movie frame by frame....and i used to draw the most effective movements...thst how i basically learned the way of animate...then i bought some books....and much excercize...^_^

Unbelievable. This is amazing. I don't get the opportunity to view rough animations like these, which is a shame because I love them and can learn a lot from them. Honestly and truly, thank you for sharing this with us all. This was a fantastic experience.
