Description
I decided to post this short cartoon i made back in 2003....i was at the university at that time..i didn t have a scanner nor a computer...so i started to animate it without pencil testing...it took me one year to finish it...when i got all the stuff to edit it i was so thrilled cause it was the first time i could see one of my animations being alive on a screen..^__^I'm sorry for the quality...i should re-scan all the drawings but i dont really have time and they're more than 1,500
...maybe i will in the future...i've already 'clean' the scenes with Daphne's bird which you can see in my gallery...The story is about the myth of Apollo and Daphne (a lil' changed in kinda romantic way
) and of course i was influenced by the style of Disney's Hercules...i really hope you all like it and leave your comments
(which i love..).I hope to be able to post a better quality version very soon even though im now focused on my new cartoon
...well about this i had the honour to have the help of a very well known person here on DA

wow this is really good. no wonder it took u forever 2 do, but it's missing a very important part, the big race they had. that is a huge chunk of the story. well even still it was great to watch.

Wow very beautiful in a heart wrenching kind of way lol. I love the style, and you can tell it's pulled a bit from Hercules but it's very lovely.

Oh, my goodness, I was blown away by this. For hand animation, it was amazingly smooth and the motion flowed very well. Your expression of Apollo's grief as Daphne transforms into a tree was amazingly well done.
I would swear that I've never seen animations this well done that weren't already at the ink and color level, this was awesome.

I had not seen that one, thanks for the link. I find the attention you give to detail is what makes your animations so wonderful. When your "pencils" are more smoothly animated than what passes for finished animation on screen these days, it is obvious that you take as much pride in your work as the great animators of the past. If I had any talents in that direction, I would feel privileged to ink or color your work. Unfortunately, I have neither the skills nor the time.

I'm doing animation myself and it's hard, many drawings, lots of hours but it's a wonderful feeling when we see the characters actually move and have life
