For this series of drawings I mainly use the normal hard round pen in combination with a brush with the "flat streak" form (I'm not sure if that one is in sai by default or not) and some selection masks to get the initial forms/colors down

Selection masks ? I may not even know what it is, I'm curious

Mhh I just use that as a blanket term for selections and masks that are created from them (as well as clipping groups since all of those serve more or less the same purpose)
