Wonderful perspective!! There is something almost magical and mysical about the way that the light shines through the branches. I find that the fact that it is black and white also really works well for the photo because it brings out the light shining through the branches even more. I also love your title because it adds a new way of looking at the image. Great job!!

Nice texture. The narrow DOF works nicely here.
I like your choice of portraying the tree horizontally, definitely makes it different.
The sky being so overexposed kinda bothers me, but that comes with the territory of shooting at the sky - perhaps some trickery with GND filters, or even underexpose, and then fill flash might help.
I'm curious, though - the section of the tree that's most centered seems a little oversharpened. Is this normal, for B+W shots? I'm a photography noob, and i've been having a little trouble with things looking oversharpened, esp. in black and white shots. My example is this one , It's definitely oversharpened, but kinda similar. Thoughts?

the sky had bothered me too. At the time it was overcast so i didnt expect the pic to turn out like this. Perhaps I need to go back and reshoot it in the morning or before sunset. I dont have a GND filter, just a polarizer.
I probably went a little overboard with the sharpening cause I was trying to get the focus on the tree and away from the sky/leaves. This is def one of the pics I want to reshoot in the future. For now, though, I think it turned out passable . I dont think it had to do with B/W, as I sharpened it while it was still color.

It's great how you've managed to get it that crisp. The contrast is awesome as well, and how you've managed to get the sunlight through the trees.

Cool , I like how the tree is more horizontal than vertical. Nice job.

quite nice, sth I miss though, some more light or sky to see the contrast and to be more aware of the height

looks good
if you could up the contrast and burn the trunk in a little, and maybe dodge out most of the foliage slightly, maybe it would have more impact
