well, when I hear tabby, I don't think about mackerel, but about spotted tabby, because it's the most typical type of tabby. Three of four cats I own are tabbies, and all in spotted tabby pattern. My friend's cat also is spotted tabby, and my neighbours' two cats are that kind of tabbies. Personally, I met just three not-spotted tabbies in my life, two classical and one mackerel. I made a long something about tabbies, with no sense, sorry
