Hey guys! Long time no post!I got the okay to post some pictures of one of the latest projects I worked on and I wanted to share. This is a 2-in-1 mini-bust of Marvel Comics characters Cloak and Dagger done for Bowen Designs. I felt very fortunate to be able to work on this as not only am I a huge fan of the characters, but I was also able to base it on the Cloak and Dagger painting I made a few years ago. So it was just a big nerd dream come true for me.
It was also a bit of a logistical nightmare as well just because of all of the stuff crammed into one piece - Two figures (one male, one female, one black, one white) big flowing cloak, bunch of twisted souls within the cloak, and all balanced together on a single base… YIKES! I’m pretty happy with how it all turned out but I was sweating bullets the entire time.

Thanks! Yeah it hit stores in Feb of this year so if you can track one down they are available now. Ebay might your best bet at this point but some are still floating around in comic book stores. It retailed for $100 so if you can find it for less than that then you can consider it a good deal.

PRETTY F"IN SWEET!! I love tis raw version! Its stunning. I didnt care for the finished painted version. With the color scheme, too much detail was lost.

Hello walter, how are you doing? i was wondering if you could tell me how you smooth the super sculpey stuff out? is it with turpentine or mineral spirits or what?

I use rubbing alcohol and a firm paint brush to smooth out the surface. Works like a charm!

At just about any comic book store or you can go to amazon and search "cloak and dagger bust". You can also check ebay. Unfortuantely it's all sold out on the Bowen Designs website.

I must say, this is simply devine, in every sence of the term. Not only is it very cool that its two of my own favorite characters, but simply in the sence of sculptural terms. The diffrent textures, from the fabric in the cloak (which awes me to no end) from the smoothness of his skin and her suit, to her hair, and finally the spirits in the cloak, it all adds to the piece like i've rarely ever seen before. I think this could be one of the best sculptures that i've ever seen, no lie.
If i may ask, what did you make this out of? And how long did it take?

the idea itself and the details (the heads in the cloak) are super great.
