My scanner has butchered this. It has completely ruined all the tones. It's a lot smoother in real life, trust me! The hair has more detail in reality, and the shading on the face isn't so blotchy and I spent a lot of time making the skin textured (although the scanner doesn't show that).
It's from a beautiful photo by Michael Tarasov that I found at www.portrait-photos.org. The original had strands of hair across the cheek and nose but I decided not to include them.

Scanning is the deviantArt nightmare of nightmares!
However those who have seen their own work mangled by scanning can add a touch of imagination to the art we see and in this case I am enchanted by your drawing.

I like the hair and eyebrow and eye a lot. (I know. Weird. But it's true.) They eye is purty, and you did an amazing job on the light, light hair, and the eyebrow just looks really realistic! -nod-
