My scanner has butchered this. It has completely ruined all the tones. It's a lot smoother in real life, trust me!

The hair has more detail in reality, and the shading on the face isn't so blotchy and I spent a lot of time making the skin textured (although the scanner doesn't show that).

It's from a beautiful photo by Michael Tarasov that I found at www.portrait-photos.org. The original had strands of hair across the cheek and nose but I decided not to include them.
