What wood for the shafts?
what bird's feathers?
those arrows look deadly!

The shafts are made of Cedar, about 8mm thick, and the fletches are left winged goose feathers.
They look good, but are totally impossible to find if you miss your target. I have lost one at a 200x200 meter flat grass field with newly cut grass...

They look reeaally good! Could you tell me a little on how you did the fletching (the feathers and the wrapping and such) because I've been wanting to make some arrows for a while now and I've attempted to do it once but I couldn't really get the fletching part the way I wanted it. And are those dowel rods you used for the shafts? Thanks !

The fletching is made with a fletching aid, [link] . It is basically glued on with superglue, and then wrapped with waxed linen thread for good looks and durability. The easiest way is to use a dull needle when you are going through the feathers to get the wrapping even. It is also possible to reinforce the knots at the ends with a tiny amount of super glue. Be careful if you get sharp bits of glued thread sticking out, you can get pretty nasty cuts when shooting.
The shafts are spined cedar shafts made specifically for arrowmaking. Bought them at my local larp store.

How did you get the feathers so ridged? or are they store-bought?

I borrowed a feather cutter from a friend.

It is a very simple way of getting them cut the same way.

No, they are bought. If I had access to a forge, then maybe I would have tried though.

Nice job.
