I'm really happy about this. It's one of the cleanest sketches I've done in a while (I tend to sketch pretty heavily). Still, I had to fix this up quite a bit.Mechanical pencil and Photoshop CS2.
I did this simply because I was in the mood to draw Ginga characters after browsing GingaSite. Personally, I'm not much of a fan of the series anymore (especially since Orion--sorry, I hate him). I still do like the previous series. I'm just not a fan of what it has become nowadays. Yes, Orion's personality does bug me. I check on the manga from time to time to find out what's going on with the original Ginga characters, especially, my favorite, Weed.
Meh, I'll write more tomorrow. I'm kinda tired and headache-y (not a word) right now.
Edit: Yes, I did forget Kyo's scars.

Weed's face is too seriously and gloomy, that makes him look more cruelly than he is. Especially on the backround of soldiers' muzzles, where is Kyoushiro has fiery courage and GB is scared, so there is no moral contrast, I mean. And Smiths' pupil is unobserved, you should make it bigger. Also it seems to me that just one too many of characters is Akame (I like him, so don't think of that). Try to do negative space in the left corner.
But it's all your vision, that's why I like this artwork

Thanks for the detailed critique! Finally, someone who isn't afraid to give an honest opinion! ^_^ I'll see if I have the original file and try to change some of the things you suggested. I do have a question though. What do you mean when you say too many characters are Akame?

Try to take Akame off the picture, and you will see how artistic composition will be changed, because there is too many characters (that is not bad, of course). All this I meant to say

When I drew this, I was focusing primarily on characters from "Ginga Densetsu Weed." That's why Riki is absent. I'm also not as familiar with Riki as I am with Weed and Gin.
