Description
The first day of transmissions was full of celebration for Wales' first television service. Opening with an overview of programmes at 6pm, speeches would be given by the ageing Prince Owain VI followed by Prime Minister Tudur Beavin. The rest of the night would see the first television news broadcasts as well as the first airing of the now iconic Yng Nghysgod yr Aran.This style of schedule was in use until 1962.
