Now, I like VII, (would love it but VI stole my #1 spot, and IX is in a close second) but Amano is my personal favorite artist from the Square crew, but for a Generic soldier design, this has the be the best one. Some how square managed to make the grunts looks badass in VII, I especially love the shoulder pads, they are a awesome shape.
Also, your costume is by far the best Soldier design I've seen. Awesome work!

Ah but Second Class wears Red, and I am not wearing Red, the pants are black and the top was dyed black but came out lighter, probably need to dye it again. >_<
Still even if the top looks purple-y that still makes it accurate with ones in FF7.

Yeah, I already have the fabric and pattern and stuff, I just need to start working on it xD
FO' SHO! Then you can just make up yer own SOLDIER and not have to worry about doubling up with another cosplayer or getting too expensive with wigs or contacts or whatever xD
