Description
Hey everyone, sorry that this one is a reload but it's been a bit slow going lately so I figured I would just add voice acting to this one since that's really all it was missing in the first version. Here's the Youtube Version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY_mmdβ¦
I would recommend watching this one on my Youtube though, just because for whatever reason these animations tend to lag up and fail to run smoothly on DA (I'm not sure why, this seems to be plaguing some of my newer uploads though, maybe the files are getting too large/complex for DA, I'm not sure).
As before, special thanks to for his awesome music, there's almost 3x as many tracks now I just can't think of a natural way to introduce them yet; I'll work on it though.
I am working on assets for new animations though, it's just slow going and I recently had an interruption (when I was away from my house for 30 days in Oct-Nov) so I'm still trying to get back into my routine here. The holidays haven't been helping either.
Regardless, let me know if you all like this one or not, Arc came through a bit quieter than expected but he had a cold the week we recorded this so it was kinda unavoidable. I did try and turn the music down though so it's not overshadowing the dialogue as much, though it's tricky to balance the different volumes of the voice actors and the different volumes of the songs (I'm getting better though).
Thanks everyone for watching!

Hey there, I am glad you managed to add sounds to your animations; definitely adds atmosphere, although your animations were already great to start with Congrats

I'm glad you thought the old animations were good without sound, but a lot of fans were asking for it and I'd probably have trouble getting a lot of attention without it. Regardless, it should only get better with voice acting and music, and hopefully catch more viewers in the process over time.
Anyway, thanks again for the comments and support. I greatly appreciate it.

Hmm. I say that I liked the FF music for humorous effect. My favorite was the stealthy music and the battle music. I dig Seledrex's soundtracks I ended up downloading them for my iphone lols.Β
Anyway, I would definitely suggest that you amplify the voice acting. Nice how you made it meta that the music at one point overshadowed the dialogue but maybe make the music a little quieter? It was harder to hear Arc, sometimes you as well but mostly Arc was quiet.
Anyway, I like the background you used. Definitely cool animation.

Cool, I'm glad that bit worked out. Interesting, I seem to get a lot of different answers on which songs people like... We've also about doubled the soundtrack since this video first came out.
*** Are you talking about downloading Seledrex's tracks from his page? Does he encourage and allow that? Did you check with him? I just don't want anyone to get upset by presumptions or anything ***
Yeah, we've actually had the opposite problem in a lot of other animations where everyone can hear Arc fine but I come across as really quiet. We're getting better at it, but the voice actor for Arc had a cold that week so he didn't come across as loud and clear as usual. Hopefully on the next one everyone will be clear and easy to hear.
Cool, thank you. Yeah I've been slowly putting together background assets like Trees, Mountains, and Buildings. Now I just need to work on smaller stuff like rocks, brush, and misc stuff like that.
Thanks for your detailed comment AnnaKlava! Your feedback is always very much appreciated!

YayοΌ Definitely looking forward to more from you!
Year I did contact him personally and asked permission since I just wanted some tunes to listen to, not to use it with anything. So Seledrex gave me a link to his work.
Good luck with the audio work. It sounds a bit difficult.Β
I look forward to seeing assorted terrain. Keep it up!
Hey, anytime, you're super cool and so are your ideas and work!

Indeed, though I may start making some of my future animations more short and concise so that I can release more of them and so that I don't lose people who don't want to watch something more than 3-5 minutes long. (You'd be surprised how many people will admit to watching the start but clicking out before it finishes, mostly people I know in Real/Life though).
Ah ok, cool. Thank you for communicating with him, I just wanted to check before I assumed anything. He's definitely a very good sound artist, I'm fortunate to have run into him more or less by accident.
It's different, but we're getting better at it, I think in future submissions it shouldn't be as much of an issue as it has been in the last few.
Well most of it will probably be either barren desert (with dunes and such), scrub-brush badlands (assorted desert trees and cactus), and Arctic tundra (conifer trees and snow capped mountains). Those are the three main biomes of Korsun, and their also some of the easiest to animate. (some of that is a coincidence, though I figured why try and make things difficult for no good reason, ha ha).
I'm glad you think I'm cool, though I'm not really sure I've earned that yet; I'm also very glad you like the ideas. The difficult part, as always, is putting it to an on-screen representation.
Thanks AnnaKlava! I love reading and responding to your feedback. Comment anytime!

Gosh. I fucked up my spelling since I was using my phone earlier. Β
Yeah, holy shit I've noticed that people do that especially on YT. I mean, there are going to be watchers who do stick around till the end or are willing to watch longer videos (like me, depending on the content). I tend to only appreciate longer videos (like 10+ minutes) if they are done once in Β awhile.Β
Seledrex is super talented. I appreciate his work. I hope to hear more from him as well, and more of his stuff in your works.Β
Lol, terrain is easy to make eh? I find backgrounds fairly challenging to be honest so kudos to you for working on them.Β
Of course, dude I'm grateful you came to my page to thank for the faves, I used to be so against that sort of thing, but I stopped and took down the "Stop thanking me for the faves" because that is honestly how I've been making friends here. I hated the aloofness I tried to do, like who attracts people with saying "Stahp doing that pls!". I fully welcome feedback of any sort, even if it's like "Hey thanks for visiting/thanking".
I think you deserve the praise, you're working hard on your animations and keeping up with such motivation I could only dream of having.Β
Oh shucks, Thank you, Korsun I am super happy coming across your comments as well! And I will.

Mistakes happen, I'm sure if I had to type these comments through a phone I would make a lot of mistakes as well.
True, but Youtube has practically endless hours of content, if something isn't eye catching and punchy then guaranteed they'll find something else that is. It makes sure that you keep your videos sharp, and motivates you to keep improving.
Absolutely, and I'm very glad to work with him. We're definitely working on other tracks; I just have to find scenes and premises that really make sense to use them, otherwise the songs would be kinda out of place, and it would feel like a disservice to use them before the animations are ready.
Well it's easy to make once you've created a few existing assets that you can populate the background with; I find that with the backgrounds as long as it's "good enough" than people wont really mind. In animations there are a lot of things competing for your attention, so the background only really comes into play if it's part of the cinematography, so basically as long as it's not bad enough to be distracting then you're good.
Well that's true, but I can see the rationale behind the "don't do faves" thing; because most artists will pop in, try and grab your attention with a note they've probably written dozens of times (myself included), which then kinda feels like it needs a response even if the person leaving it maybe didn't put a lot of thought into it either. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I'll go to thank someone for a favorite and I'll see something interesting on their page and can say something original, but the vast majority of the time I'm just trying to make sure I don't see ungrateful for what few visits I do get. (Despite the immense difficulty of seeming genuine when your thanking dozens of people that day).
It has it's peaks and valleys like anything else, some days when I spend all day drawing a wall or a box it can get dull; though it's refreshing when you get little things like a detailed comment or notice that your newer animation is doing better than the old one. Regardless, the key is to stick with it, even if it means doing a lot of trudging through the mundane.
Cool, I'm always happy to have enthusiastic fans; and I'm glad I can give back by occasionally commenting on your stuff or commissioning you for artwork. Anyway, thanks again, see you next time AnnaKlava!

Ha ha, yeah Arc's always poking fun at Brack's humor, or lack thereof, I think it makes for an interesting trade off.
Indeed, the voice actor for Arc thought that would be an interesting touch so I added it in while mixing in the voice takes.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear that. I think we're getting closer with each one of these, though this time the voice actor for Arc had a cold so he came through a little quiet this time.
Of course, I will do that. Thanks Illusir!
