That's pretty neat, but what's the point of cutting the front end off just to have the barrel sticking out and a grip to extend out all janky like that? And why would a wire run down the outside of a gun where it can get damaged easily? Just thoughts on the gun. Nice-looking, but makes questionable sense.

In some way it looks like it, but I actually not. The design just pop out in my mind about modular frame weapon that can handle many different mechanism set up, interchangeable, from small calibre (SMG) to high caliber (.50 cal) as long as it fits each other.
More or less probably its coming from CARB rifle used by RDA company on the jungle of Pandora, Avatar.
