That is exactly what happened with my friend and I. I made it up (the first time) but jumped back down to show him the way. We never made it up again and swore, at launch, we would make it up. Good times.

Just wait until you see the Asura. They HIDE their staircases... and then every stair case is a floating stone jumping platform.
