so I've been following for a while now and thought I should try my hand on an one hour drawing. Finally had an idea after watching a few episodes of SATAM.stream here [link]

Ambitious lighting, but the composition is painfully flat. The size and angle on the duo draws the viewers attention more towards the corridor, which is distressingly barren and lacking in detail. You should have invested a LOT more effort into this.

I would have worked more on this if this wasn't an one hour drawing. The point is to do as much as possible within one hour,and since this was my first try at one of these I don't think I did too badly. To be honest I don't entirely understand what you mean. Could you explain exactly what I could do better? (I'm sorry, I never get critique so I'm not used to dealing with it)

Well, in a cat-and-mouse themed illustration like this, the key aspect is to emphasize the distance between the two parties. You do that by bringing one party in close-up and the other one in the background. Sonic and Sally don't occupy the proper space to satisfy that requirement, as the bare wall dominates most of the picture. Another way to increase the tension is by rotating the angle so that you can see further down the hall Sonic and Sally are in, indicating their path of escape. (A distorted wall-eye perspective would work well here.) Contrast between the two parties is another important element, but I think you have that relatively well covered. The last point is detail. I mentioned before how uninteresting the background is, and it's just a sign that this sort of picture deserves more time invested in it beyond the one-hour limit.
