Description
Since the point of the illustration was practicing with a traditional B&W technique I was asked to keep the coloring flat and simple, with a limited palette.
I'm never home and while enjoying summer I'm working on something important, so I'm scheduling my deviations here and there. Sorry if I take some time to reply

This looks amazing! I love the palette, simple but reminds me of an old 1800's painting. The premise is also great, I love the idea of artists literally creating worlds and this captures that wondrous feeling perfectly. The detail in the city and train are stunning, actually feels like a miniature world is being created. You did amazing on this, keep up the great work!

Thank you! My idea here was to show the process of creation of a fantasy world by a sci-fi novelist - the train has just been brought to life and is having fun with its newfound flying ability

Fantastic idea. Creative on an immense scale (figuratively and literally!) It has wonderful depth and perspective, well-balanced all throughout and is one of those pieces where it's more than just one piece, I think. One of my favorites, because you kept it simple but imaginative.
