The stealing platypus

Dex entry:
Plathief have a pouch on their belly, much like that of a kangaroo. Only Plathief isn’t marsupial. They don’t raise their young inside the pouch and they lay eggs. They use the pouch to collect and hide food.
Plathief are mischievous creatures who seek out people that are picnicking near the lakes where they live. With their cute looks they take the humans off-guard, and end up stealing their sandwiches and snacks by slipping them carefully in their belly-pouch without anyone noticing it.

The stealth platypus

Furtipus is the female evolution of Plathief.

Dex entry:
Furtipus are swift but also silent swimmers. They cover their face with waterplants so won’t be noticed so easily when they lift their head out of the water to look around.
They sneak up on prey that are drinking on the waterside and grab them with their big front paws around their face to cover their screams, pulling them under water.

The lurking platypus

Assassipus is the male evolution of Plathief.

Dex entry:
Assissipus have a big spur on their feet which will grow into sharp, poisonous blades.
Their beak is covered with a leather-like layer which grows from their beak over their back into a veil-like tail. This veil can take over the colour of its surroundings, and is used for camouflage.
Assassipus can wait for hours without moving an inch. When a prey gets close enough, deceived by their camouflage, they strike with their poisonous spurs.

Extra info about real life platypus:
- Male platypus are one of the few venomous mammals.
- platypus live in eastern Australia, this inspired me to give Plathief a belly-pouch. Australia is full of marsupial animals after all.
- Perry is not a real life platypus, but his secret-agent character gave me the inspiration to make some secretive platypus-fakemon
