Description
Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from the newest Disney movie called Tangled. ^^I actually started on this way back in February, right after I came home from the cinema after watching it. And then I started on this drawing again after I bought the Dvd this month. c: Inspiration really helps me to continue on drawings. xD
Don't really like the background. But I must admit that I'm at least getting a little bit (just a tiiiny bit) better on it though. So that's a good thing, I guess.
And I also tried to draw this in Disney style. c:

I mostly used watercolours. + Some colouringpencils and gelpens. And a little bit blue promarkers in the background. (blended it together with the blue pencil watercolours)

You really captured their personalities in this pose! And you were able to keep the drawing on character but still manage to get it into your own manga style. I know that's really hard to do but you really freaking pulled it off! And right down to the pretty details in the dress it's just so perfect!

I'm not gonna write a page long critique or anything, mainly because this piece showcases your amazing talent to adapt to any style and make it your own =w=b
It's a wonderful picture, I love the style you used, and I love the way you executed it. You, my friend, are extremely talented with water colors and blending! (when I use water colors...everything just turns brown. ._____. )
And of course, this is one of my favorite movies, and seeing fan art of it from you, one of my favorite artists is like a slice of cake (or a tractor) for me.

Rapunzel is cathing the whole attention of this pic. XD But her dress is so pretty and that pose so dynamic that she deserves that attention. Allso really great coloring! This looks really soft compared to your previous pics. Like the lineart is colored which makes this soft and dream like, but allso your whole way of painting makes this really soft. At first I didn't even understand this is watercolor work. Haha. XD;

As for the lineart, I was going to use normal black lineart. I started a bit on it, but then I ended up using colours for the lineart instead. Which, as you said, made it look a lot softer. c:

Rapunzel's hair looks gorgeous and her pose is pretty nice, and I like their expressions too. But I get the feeling they are supposed to look each other in the eye, but Flynn actually gazes way too high. It's a shame how it could've looked totally different if the pupil was in a slightly different position. o.o
As for the background, I think overall you have improved in doing them! ^_^
However, we've actually talked about disney movies a lot in school, and one of the things that my teacher said (and I completely agreed with him) is their inability to combine colors well and/or harmoniously. They use way too much bright colors which tend to start fighting each other. Something like that can also be seen in this picture, like maybe the background is too bright and it's stealing a bit too much attention from the main thing, which is the lovely couple in the front. BUT since you actually stated you were going for Disney style, it's not really even your fault. IT'S DISNEY'S FAULT DAMNIT!

Disney is all about princessly bright pinkish harmony. 8D
The drawing is actually a bit darker irl. However I do see that the background steal the attention here too. But I when I scan it, it always turns out different. So I use a little photoshop to make it better. Maybe I made it "glow" to much, I dunno. xD I just liked the brightness. But maybe it was to bright. 8DD

Haha I know, I like the glow effect too, but I try to keep the photoshop editing in a minimum.
And I'm not saying brightness is bad. Heck, I combine some crazy colors myself too. It's just a matter of opinion really.
