A followup to this pic drawn by RockyGems I'm sure you all remember my AU where Makucha's Army won and feasted at the Tree of Life (of course this was a dream sequence of Makucha's), and that after feasting for months they wound up fat and happy? Well this is the aftermath of said pic. Makucha, Chuluun, Ora, and their friends have indeed been feasting. They hunted every animal in the tree of life down, and picked off any animal that happened upon the tree. Yet as time went on, they found it harder and harder to catch prey. It soon dawned upon them that all that overeating has made them too slow and large to hunt properly. Now they must undertake a new mission: dieting and exercising. Now has a companion piece to this Lion King EU: An Alternate Outcome 2The animal raced through the Tree of Life with all of its might. Its legs pumped as it pounded against the ground. All the while it looked back to make sure it was a good distance away. Yet when it did so, it did a double-take, almost as if saying "Is this real?"A trio of labored breaths sounded out, all chasing after the animal. After waiting a good while, the animal shrugged and darted off. It no longer felt in danger. Eventually, the breaths subsided as the trio halted their movement."Yeah...you...better run!" A deep voice spoke up. The source was an African Leopard."Things...not...worth...it...anyway." Puffed a Komodo Dragon next to him.Plopping herself down was a third figure, a snow leopard. She said nothing but held the same sentiments. They were none other than the trio of Makucha, Chuluun, and Ora. In this set of events, they had managed to conquer the Tree of Life be mere chance, all thanks to Kion not mastering his roar. This led them to victory, and free to feast to their heart's content on the rare animals that lived there. And feast they did, everyday without limits. Eventually, all that overeating took its toll, and now the trio, along with the rest of their army had grown very fat, a result of hunting down every animal within the Tree. The feast itself lasted for many months, and even though the Tree's population had been extinguished, more animals still happened upon it making sure they still had a good food supply.Least when the animal was slow. Faster animals were another story. If the animal was too fast, it made chasing rather difficult, especially at their size. And lately, they had been getting a lot of fast animals. As she finished puffing for air, Chuluun, at last spoke, "I don't know about you two...but I think we overdid it." She said as she felt the sheer weight of her body.Ora and Makucha did the same, each muttering agreement towards their snow leopard friend.Chuluun let out a weary sigh. Where did it go wrong? She asked herself. It had all started with the first feast. After the Night Pride and the Lion Guard were taken care of, they hunted down and ate any animal they could catch, doing so until they could hold another mouthful. Chuluun recalled how she had felt that day. Quite frankly she had never been so satisfied in her life. She could barely move and it shocked her at how much her stomach could hold. Ora and Makucha and were in the same condition, satiated till their senses were dulled. And although the snow leopard and dragon were not as gluttonous as their African Leopard recruiter, their greed was pushed to their limits, the former boundary and restraint no longer holding them back. She recalled Mama Binturong's reaction to the whole thing. Unlike them and the rest of their army, Mama and her porcupines had stayed out of the feasting, (not being of the carnivorous persuasion). Though the elderly binturong had expected her companions to feast, she just didn't expect how much. Honestly, she seemed disgusted by their behavior, but the trio had been too dopey and bloated to care. Eventually, they passed out and after they had slept off (most) of their meal, they rinse and repeated, and kept it going for the long months that followed. Now they were paying the price."You know? I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe there was a point to that whole "Circle of Life nonsense." Makucha realized.Ora growled and replied, "Now you tell us."Sitting on her haunches, and placing a paw to her large gut, Chuluun said, "All I know is I'm going on a serious diet after this.""You and me both sister." Makucha agreed."Ditto," Ora replied.Though they had cemented their victory and accomplished their goals, they were now seeing the downside of it. And so they prepared for the coming regime, of diet and exercise. And then Chuluun woke up.The snow leopard awoke with a start. Immediately she glanced about and was happy to see herself back in her den. Next to her, she could see her mate Makucha playing with their son Jiwe. Chuluun's mind thought back to her situation and realized where she was in her life the moment she glanced down at her belly, her pregnant belly.Little Jiwe's gaze strayed from his father towards his mother, "Mama! You're up! Did you have a nice nap?" The hybrid leopard asked.Chuluun let out a breath and replied, "Not really,""You alright?" Makucha asked, noting the distressed expression upon his mate's face."Yeah, just had a bad dream. I think it was that fish I ate," Chuluun figured.Makucha's expression briefly changed to annoyance, "Ironic considered you begged me to get you one."That was true. Though the pregnancy was a blessed event, it came with mood swings and cravings, something Chuluun was no stranger to. When she was pregnant with Jiwe, Chuluun had to do all the hunting herself, primarily because she and Makucha had yet to become a couple. Now that they were together, Makucha did everything he could to provide for the whole family, and Chuluun was free to satisfy all of her cravings by having Makucha go gather what she wanted. And earlier she had wanted fish. The clear problem was the lake where the fish were, was far below the mountain range, where the snow barely fell, and Makucha didn't relish traveling that far. Nevertheless, he was weak when confronted with a pregnant snow leopard demanding what she wanted. As she put it, "Whatever my baby wants! My baby gets!". And seeing as this was Makucha's baby as well, he was in no place to argue. Now Chuluun was realizing how unfair she had been. Makucha had gone through all that work, and according to Jiwe (who tagged along) Makucha had gotten himself quite drenched as he attempted to fish. Though the mental image was funny, Makucha didn't find the audience he had gained outside his fun so pleasant. Frankly, they found the image of a big strong leopard such as him struggling with a fish very humorous.Bowing her head down, Chuluun uttered an apology, "I'm sorry honey after you went through all that work."Seeing his wife's remorse, Makucha's expression softened and he said, "Hey babe it's not a problem. You and the cub come first."Chuluun smiled, thankful that Makucha had become so selfless since they tied the knot. But then she thought back to her dream and a solitary question was on her mind."Makucha?""Hmm?""Do I still look attractive to you? All pregnant like this?""What? Of course!"Chuluun brightened up, "Really?""Look you could be a big furry hippo and I'd still think you're beautiful," Makucha admitted.Remembering her dream, Chuluun felt she could have easily passed for one. Smiling she got to her paws and put her head underneath her husband's chin."Thanks for putting up with me. You're a wonderful provider and don't you forget that." Said Chuluun.Makucha grinned and melted into Chuluun's embrace. All the while little Jiwe watched with a grin and a giggle. Sure his parents could get all mushy, but he was happy they were together. And at that moment, Chuluun realized though she did not get the (nearly) endless feast she was promised at the Tree of Life, she and her mate's defeat had led to an even greater reward. And you know what? Chuluun was fine with that.
