Description

Three different species that share a common ancestor. One of the unifying traits for these creatures is the long pale hairs. The hairs pick up vibrations and possible other information in air or water, acting almost like giant hair cells in ears.

The vib is a small and skittish critter. It eats insects that it detects with its whiskers. The tail is almost always in the air to warn the vib of predators like birds of prey. It runs very fast

The narkak is commonly found by lakes and in wetlands. It uses its wide beak-like mouth and whiskers to find edible water plants and small creatures in the water. The sensitive hairs on its back can detect danger while the narkak’s head is submerged. The narkak is quite a beloved culture icon.

The serebey is a fully aquatic animal that lives in the murky waters of Ditovo’s rivers. Because of the water’s often low visibility the serebey navigates by the aid of its “feelers” located in front of its eyes. These feelers can be moved independently of one another and can focus in on sound and other stimuli, the hair on the back however act more like a passive sensory organ like the vib’s and narkak’s pale hair strands. They swim like penguins.
