It's not like EVERYONE has STDs though, if your sex partner was tested for STDs and the test shows that they have no STDs, your not gonna get STDs.

I know this is satire but I'm just pointing that out.

Is it weird that I know you are sarcastic in the case of this stamp (and the one about pregnancy), but I faved both of them a bit seriously? Anyway, I have to say that you reminded me about one situation, when I was 12-13 years old and I saw that in one magazine for women there was an article about "the ways of preventing pregnancy" and I looked at the mentioned methods, I was like "Why they don't mention the obvious way of preventing pregnancy? Why they don't write about not having sex at all?" Heh, silly me.

Best way to not have STD's:
Don't be born with a mother who has one.
Don't have a botched blood transfusion.
Wear condoms when having sex.
Have regular doctor visits for you and your partner.

Best way to judge people for no good reason:
Shame them for doing something perfectly natural, and shaming them for having a disease.

That's what condoms are for honey, but like every other things they have risks of not protecting against stds and pregnancy but it's the best way of protecting against nasties if you really want to get it on

SpongeMuffin In reply to sans-coeur97 [2013-06-19 01:36:29 +0000 UTC]

Er . . . yes it does? What kind of sex education have you had because that's the entire point of a condom. No pregnancy and no STDs.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dreamer-In-Shadows In reply to SpongeMuffin [2013-12-21 22:35:31 +0000 UTC]

Condoms can break, y`know?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpongeMuffin In reply to Dreamer-In-Shadows [2013-12-22 00:56:35 +0000 UTC]

If your condom breaks, 99% of the time, YOU did something wrong. Condoms rarely break without human stupidity.

I don't see what your comment had to do with mine anyway.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dreamer-In-Shadows In reply to SpongeMuffin [2013-12-22 10:14:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, it`s a little factoid that condoms have some (read this as "big") degree of protection, but not 100%, especially if they`re not made of latex, the material that is apparently the best in not allowing the bugs + viruses to infect you (some STD viruses can pass through condoms that are made of other materials, thus making even such things as oral sex dangerous) and who knows where has your partner been before you had met him/her. Thus when having fun with condoms, you still need to be aware of the possibility to get an STD, no matter how slim. Just like how straight men and women can get AIDS and not being included in every risk-groups.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpongeMuffin In reply to Dreamer-In-Shadows [2013-12-22 10:38:12 +0000 UTC]

Of course, I agree and understand all of that perfectly fine.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dreamer-In-Shadows In reply to SpongeMuffin [2013-12-22 10:45:39 +0000 UTC]

I bet that sans-coeur97 was a tad too much of a generalist there, though, thus agreeing with you as well. And maybe abstaining from sex is one way to prevent STDs, but together with that, you should not connect to the risk-groups as well as pick up dropped syringes (traces of blood!) and share your razor with others you don`t know about ... if your parents were not infected before.

Heh, glad to hear this. What is your personal opinion on abstaining from sex?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpongeMuffin In reply to Dreamer-In-Shadows [2013-12-23 10:00:24 +0000 UTC]

I think it's fine as long as it's done willingly. I think it's a bit silly to do because of religious reasons, but I find religious things on a whole to be silly

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dreamer-In-Shadows In reply to SpongeMuffin [2013-12-23 10:02:37 +0000 UTC]

Interesting. I do agree that as long as you wish to abstain it`s alright. No one should force you into sex if you don`t want to. Thus rape is in my book.

And while that is the best way it doesn't mean we shouldn't teach kids about the other precautions.

Because not all of them are going to go along with abstinence and it's naΓ―ve and dangerous to expect otherwise.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Not-Think In reply to Matriss [2011-03-19 01:44:25 +0000 UTC]

Indeed :/ The thing that gets me is how we still teach abstinence ins schools- where it's been proven again and again that there are less pregnancies ect in schools that teach safe sex practices. I also think that there should be free birth control and condoms for everyone.

I'm just stating the almost foolproof way to not get an STD
