Fenris, you and Aveline are probably the two most honest characters in the entire game, BUT... you lied about the puppy eyes. There are definitely puppy eyes.~THE BIGGEST AND THE SHINIEST~
Also Hawke stood up at some point but honestly it's not important enough to get its own panel, come on.

This comic is astounding! Shame on me for not commenting more. I will go back and reread this at some point so I can add more thoughts on this. The shading, the dialogue, the characters' expressions... it's all so beautifully done.

I haven't comented on this before now, but I just wanted to say this is the best anything with Fenris I have read, and thank you for making it. It is touching and full of emotion. The kind i expect from this pairing. You my friend have a talent.
I personally am more of an Anders girl, but I love Fenis in my own special way. I even made a Hawke just for him. His romance is fantastic, and so is his character.
But him and Anders have one thing that drove me up a wall. How those two are so stuck in their opinions nothing you say or do can change them. Made my Hawke want to bash them over the head with the blunt end of her sword.

Fenris is a creature of extremes, isn't he... When he's intense, he's INTENSE. When he decides to be all cute...well, I don't think I need to abuse the caps-lock any more than I have already
Also, I totally want to touch his hair. I'd lose a hand in doing so, but you've drawn his hair so strand-y (as opposed to a solid block of white, I guess - that looks like real hair - more real than it looks in game, point of fact).
And Hawke is smiling. It suits him.
Mm, but those gauntlets are a little scary in proximity to that book...

Fenris definitely lives his life on an emotional rollercoaster. Angry, sad, angry, jovial, annoyed, awkward, sad again, cute! Makes him fun. Imat's based on an OC of mine who is much more subdued, so you don't get that kind of fun from him.

Well I do think it works better to have characters balance. Otherwise you end up with scenarios that ceaselessly escalate, to the point where the writer is blocked into a corner and there's no legitimate resolution. (Often deus ex machina step in around then. It can be quite annoying/jarring.)
The OC he's based on is very similar; the surroundings are so emotionally-charged and high-risk, it's important to have someone who is calm, rational, compassionate, and wise. The major difference between him and Hawke, however, is that he's not the protagonist, but instead the primary villain.

Imat reminds me (in a completely disjointed and roundabout way) of the title character of "Orlando", by Virginia Woolf. He doesn't seem to react much to all the provocative events (or reflections on provocative events, in the case of your comic), which is just as well because if he reacted to every little thing, we the readers would be exhausted trying to react with him.
His rather placid demeanor gives Fenris room to be a shaped charge, that is, a controlled explosion instead of a really messy one. I don't think that made sense. Maybe I should stop trying to make complicated metaphors (not complicated, really, just beyond me at the moment) at nearly four in the morning...
