Description
This is a special person in my life. His favorite color is green. His favorite sport is soccer, and his favorite music is found on the Guitar Hero games. Like a lot of kids, he goes to school, and his favorite subject is reading. He loves swimming, computer games, and eating. He likes to dress up as Spider Man for Halloween, and wishes he could be Spider Man in real life. He has his own likes, dislikes, talents, and quirks. He breathes air, his heart beats, his mind thinks, and he has feelings. Oh yeah, by the way, he has autism, but really heβs just another human like you and me, and loves to be treated as one."If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away." - Henry David Thoreau
Faves, features, comments, and watches are always welcome and extremely appreciated. Thank you for any support in advance (although I will try to thank you personally, sometimes life gets in the way)! If you use this picture, please send a link!
Update: To answer a frequent question I'm seeing: Yes, I am sharing with him his feedback, and no, he didn't technically write the text himself, but he did to the best of his ability, so he deserves the credit. In my opinion, yes he wrote it and deserves the credit because he did his very best and that's all anyone can do.

I like this a lot. My brother has autism and I hate to see others make fun of him because he's different (though he has tons of friends). It's true, they are still human as they can do anything people without autism can do it just takes a little more.
A lovely message. ^^

He's so adorable!
I have a cousin who's autistic, he's not allowed to go to school with kids who aren't autistic, though, which is a shame. He has a hard time communicating and gets angry easy =/

He is just too cute, and I love the message shown.
I really love how this deviation has a true meaning. I have a good friend of mine who has Aspergers, and I really do believe he's just like anyone else. I agree, "SO WHAT!" They're human, and they should be treated no different.
And I have to say congratulations with the Daily Deviation!

I had the pleasure of working with these fine young ladies and gents (primarily gents, as the "condition" is more prominent in males,) as a tutor and transitional aid for those with Autism, and they are some of the most caring and loving people I know. Regardless of what level on the spectrum they fall, they all have shining personalities. Lord, I miss that line of work.
It's awesome to see a young adult walk up to me and say hello, and when I look close, it was one of the kids I used to work with...who seemed to have no concept of the outside world when I first met them.
I'm going to cry now. Definatley a Fave for me.

XD I have it, too, but I am still a human. I have a lot of friends who know about it, and they've all helped me get past mean people throughout the years.
I have to thank them dearly for that.
This kid sounds like a wonderful person.

This is such an adorable piece of art. Honestly, I often fav a lot of art pieces without commenting, and I realize that's a bad habit. However, this picture has touched me, and I owe both of you the respect of leaving a comment as well as a favorite. There is no doubt in my mind that this piece has touched many people in many ways, and I'm sure that many people would be honored to feature this picture in any type of cause relating to this subject. Again, Great job.

It's more than true. I'm dyslexic, ADHD, bi-polar, and suffer from Extreme Depression and anxiety. When I was younger I couldn't read or write, I had troubles with a speech impediment and was placed in special ED classes. Which didn't help me in all reality. The one thing I could do was drawing, I wasn't some great drawer like: omg, how can she draw that she's so young. I was simply okay. Which was my release for what I couldn't say. Once I over came my dyslexia I caught up with my grade and then surpassed it. I eve took a chances to attend ( and I still do attend) a program for advanced students, where I take high school and college at the same time. I walked at a different beat, and so far, I'm blessed for it. I seriously think your brother will be an amazing person, with tons of talent, hope, and an amazing ability to understand things that most people shove aside as unneeded or silly. I don't know him, but I have faith in him already ^-^

I have an autisim brother, he's 8 now, and also speaks a word or even sentances now.
He does not go to school, he does not read, but he loves music, Games (any kind of action. ), messing up the laptops and PC,
Peanos and keyboards. ^^
He can understand what one says to him, he just mostly pretend like he doesn't understand. Lol

Cute kid! I have mild Asperger's myself (and some other things). I like the message - I have done a lot of things that the so-called "professionals" said I might not do: I have lived on my own (at college), I have a driver's license, I have friends, and I've even had a boyfriend (and when I was little, people thought I might even have full-blown autism!) I like that you make a point of not defining him because of his autism.

Things rarely ever touch me like this, but...
what a strong young man, he is just showing everyone not to stick to common stereotypes about people with so-called "disabilities". He can love, feel, and enjoy life just as well as me or you. A yey for you and him.
