Description
Because it's been asked: the brush does not matter in the slightest bit. Use any, for it's your hand, not the brush doing the work. if you want to know, however, I use a common round one, squeezed sideways. But it's a sad, and pretty disturbing mistake to assume it's the brush doing the job, rather than the artist...------
Just a quick tutorial (or maybe just a series of tips?). TBH I never use tutorials as I'm far too lazy to follow steps. So I wasn't 100% sure on how to do one!
In any case, if it's liked, I may do more of them ^^ This is not, in any way shape or form, a professional tutorial. Mostly just sharing my technique.
Gotta run to work now, but I'll be commenting and answering later tonight ^^

Just good ol' basic round, after messing around with the settings a bit ^^ (tip shape, shape dynamics and scattering).

Stuff I should do, but am usually too lazy... Good tutorial overall Not sure what you mean by "Dynamic" brush tho. Perhaps a sampling of the brushes/textures you use would be a useful addition.

Thank you! ^^ To be fair, most of the times I'm super lazy. This is the technique I normally use for paintings, but I shoudl really start using it on my comic more often, as it's really fast and easy.
That's a good point, however! I do realise I should've clarified this was made for Photoshop (I don't know how many programs have dynamic brushes, as I've only used PS and SAI so far). In any case, by Dynamic Brush I mean, I grab the basic round brush and play around with the settings (tip shape, shape dynamics and scattering) in order to create a textured brush, that makes the entire progress so much faster. I will keep this in mind for the enxt one, which will probably be about trees ^^

Ah-ha, that is pretty much what I usually use as well, though I frequently alternate a couple of shaped "sponge" brushes for different ground covers (grass, weeds, etc.)

I really liked this, I'd never considered all you can say about the environment and the context the characters might be in through a simple shrub, so this really opened my eyes. Thank you!

Super glad you liked it, and it was useful! ^^ I really enjoy all the aspects of ecosystems, so I thought I'd share that as well, as it's something that has helped me alot when it comes to painting
