ref sheet of two characters for which i'm wanting to enter this would be my first OCT and i'm a bit nervous haha. wish me luck!
still recovering from an illness that knocked me to bed several days, so forgive me if once again i'm behind messages, i'll catch up ASAP. also, have an exam tomorrow, shouldn't have done this today :U

one of the few venomous mammals and the world's smallest bird because i'm like that and because Cuban wildlife is amazing :'D

Main character:
Name: Yucca
Age: one year and half (adult)
Gender: female
Species: Cuban Solenodon (Solenodon cubanus)
What was stolen: her "dream journal", which she keeps by memory (because she can't read/write) aka, the memories of past dreams.
Abilities: her saliva is toxic and she can inject it through fluted second incisives in her lower jaw. If threatened, can produce a musky smell (it has no other utility than discouraging a potential predator, it doesn't cause any physical damage).

her saliva contains fast-acting neurotoxic venom, whose effect is more intense the smaller the foe is, and decreases as the foe size increases. the effects begin to appear 5 minutes after the bite and increase with time. when mortal, it happens by respiratory failure (nerves controlling breathing getting paralized). effects listed below:
- mortal for a creature smaller than her, after one bite (death occurs in 6 hours)
- mortal for a creature of 1-5 kilos after 2 bites (death occurs in 12 hours) with 1 bite, the following symptoms may last for 24 hours: swelling, drowsyness, weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, loss of coordination, paralysis of the affected limb during 12 hours (peaking at the 12th hour, decaying then).
- a creature of 5-10 kilos will experiment swelling, drowsyness, weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, loss of coordination, reduction of mobility in the affected limb during 12 hours (peaking at the 6th hour, decaying then). mortal only if the neck is bitten (after 6 hours).
-a-creature of 10-30 kilos will experiment swelling, drowsyness, abdominal pain, weakness, nausea during 6 hours (peaking at the 3rd hour, decaying then). reduction of mobility only if bitten in the neck.
- a larger creature will experiment sweelling, drowsyness, slight muscular pain and a slight weakness during 4 hours. reduction of mobility only if bitten in the neck.

Physical Strengths: poisonous bite, though she prefers to not bite (see weaknesses). she'd rather hit the foe with her claws, adapted to digging, which are pretty strong for her size. senses of smell, hearing and touch are well developed, especially the later. can climb trees althought she's not very agile.
Physical Weaknesses: very small. runs and climbs rather slowly. has a very bad eyesight. while her entire body is fragile, her snout is especially delicate and since biting implies high exposure, it's a last measure form of defense. having the snout damaged may cause her to lose the sense of direction and be unable to find food.
Height/Weight: Lenght: 30 cm (1 ft) / Weight 1 kilo (2,2 pounds)
Personality: timid, highly imaginative with a tendency to daydream, calm, distrustful. with strangers, words fail her, and her speech is very nervous and insecure (leaves sentences incomplete, doesn't say much). individualist, althought she'll hardly carry a grunge, doesn't care about any stranger's problems either. however, when she makes a bond of some sort with another, it tends to be strong and she becomes very emotionally attached. hates fighting because she's terrified of getting hurt, especially of getting her very sensitive snout (the organ in which she relies for guidance) mauled. she doesn't mind company if others approach peacefully to her and are small enough, but dislikes it when it becomes too noisy or invasive, especially if the creature is bigger than her. she'll usually not approach to others.
Other:
while her sight is blurry, her dreams are perfectly nitid, yet since she can't see in colors, dreams are as well in grayscale.
History: she's just a normal solenodon with a well developed imagination. she always liked strange dreams and would repeat them to herself after waking up several times so she would not forget them. she likes to interpret those dreams, finding messages both by individual interpretation and tying several dreams together. more in the audition.
Likes: silence, being left alone, strange dreams, natural scents, daydreaming, sunset, dawn.
Dislikes: noise, jokes, being the center of attention, crowds, cold, people who talks or laughs too much, high-pitched sounds, being asked too many questions, harsh sunlight.

Gender: male
Species: Bee Hummingbird (Mellisuga helenae)
What was stolen: his sense of taste
Abilities: can fly very fast, in any direction, and change these directions in an instant. despite the velocity he has perfect control of his movements. his tiny size allows him to observe/hear while going unnoticed and can get into really small nooks.
Physical Strengths: very fast and acrobatic, very good eyesight. small size for spying and getting access to places others can't get into.
Physical Weaknesses: he's as small as an insect and extremely fragile. can't fight at all or defend himself if he doesn't die when caught. his plumage, which reflects light and has vivid colors may denounce him while being sneaky. due to the high consumption of energy, needs to eat almost constantly.
Height/Weight: Lenght, beak to tail: 5 cm (2 inches)/ 1,6 g (0,056 oz)
Personality: very sociable, cheery, laid back, confident optimystic, naive. of a curious nature, he's always interested in Yucca's outlook on the world (which he finds weird and even amusing, but enjoys listening nonetheless). gets along with anyone, unless the other shows him/herself to be threatening. can be fooled easily as he's a very trusting little guy. from a person's point of view, he's always hyper, but that's the norm for hummingbirds.
History: he is just a normal hummingbird who one day saw a weird thylacine, and since then, never felt the sweet taste of nectar again.
Likes: yucca, tiny insects, flowers, bright colors, sweet scents and flavor, misterious places, eating, showing his accrobacies or his velocity, female birds, being admired because of his skills and/or beauty.
Dislikes: being threatened, cold, hard surfaces, nasty smell, predators.
