Description My scanner was glitching on me, so it took a while before I got to scan and upload this.

I'm not sure if anyone knows this, but whenever I get a new sketchbook, I find it almost obligatory to draw a standalone picture of Conan. It's really damn weird, but I haven't broken the habit since 2005. You normally don't see all of them because the ones I drew when I was 14 look like crap and tried too hard to copy the anime's old style. I do, however, have a softspot for this one ([link] ), the only one I ever uploaded uptil now.

I decided to revamp the look, though it hasn't changed much and looks downright weird. Conan appears to have deerlegs the more I look at it, has a tiny head, and the picture looks scrunched together to fit the page.

I like the realistic cartoon look on him better. I made the clothes look somewhat oversized, well, just because. :T Though I tried to make the shoes look less like hightops, given one wouldn't really kick a soccer ball with basketball shoes, hurf a durf durf. I blended the look of the original shoes and hightops together so it didn't look silly (and the way I draw hightops looks like clown shoes anyway).

While I like the general details of this, specifically the outfit and hair. The legs seem rather uneven. From my point of view, it looks like the right one is more thinner than the left one. The pose and expression are pretty good though.

Yup, I noticed the leg thing after I scanned it. I was trying to go at an angle but I haven't really practiced enough to really make it look right.

Thank you for pointing these flaws out. I'm actually starting to use a ruler to make sure things like facial and body details are correctly aligned. It might iron it out a little so features don't look lopsided.

You're welcome. Using a ruler is a great idea, and certainly help when body details and get some lines straight.
